"The sun never came back, engulfed in the storm clouds as I watched
It fade away.
why did it have to go?
My sunshine never came back,
engulfed by the depths of the roaring ocean,
I watched as she sank,
why did she have to leave?"
The class fell silent, mainly from admiration, as John walked to the back of the class and sat back down in his chair.
"Nice writing--as always, Mr. Lennon." Ms. Milton commented, "now, class, What was the meaning behind this poem?"
"Global warming." John announced, a wave of snickers sounded in the room.
"Obviously, it's something to do with an ex-girlfriend."
"A magician."
"weather."
The class giggled at the dumb proposals they dished out.
A boy raised his hand, "Ms. Milton, I know what John's poem was about." He matter of factly stated, eyes stabbing into the back of John's head.
"We-"
"Have a go at it, then." John cut her off, turning to give the boy a venomous smile.
He cleared his throat, "You see, Johnny here has some mommy issues. Mommy wanted to give him up, and she did. While living a better life without this disappointment," he gestured toward John, "She had a new family of her own. She was so happy in this life that she couldn't see clearly and walked in front of a speeding car and oops!"
You could almost feel the tightness of the fist John was making, it choked Aurora.
"Mr. Best." Ms. Milton gasped, everyone was shocked to say the least at the information just spat out by the boy.
"Count your fucking days." John spat as he looked at the boy, snatching his stuff and exiting the classroom.
