Aurora and John sat on his roof, eating a bag of jelly babies. The roof was now a place they could go to to talk about basically anything.

"So, what's up with you, Lennon?"

It's been eating at Aurora since the day he'd come to class with his shirt on backwards and a dull look in his eye.

He grabbed a handful of jelly babies, "It's me girl, sleeping beauty." he shoved them into his mouth as he looked down onto the rest of the world.

"What's wrong with her?"

"She said she doesn't love me back."

Aurora's hand lifted to rest upon John's shoulder when she stopped herself, "You'll get over it. She'll realize she loves you soon enough."

John shook his head, "She ended us. We're done, Aurora."

"Oh." She said stupidly, hand laying near the jelly babies as she thought of something to say.

"It's nothing to get hung up about." She said, after all, they were young.

John would have a million shots at love in the future.

He turned his head to her, "Of course you'd say that."

His words were bitterly spat at Aurora and the glare he sent made her want to hide away, "You don't know what it feels like. You have Stuart wrapped around your fucking finger."

Aurora's face twisted up in confusion, "What do you mean? Why are you acting like this?"

"You just..." he put his head in his hands, "You wouldn't understand what it feels like to have nothing."

"John, I-"

"Just leave."

ive had quite the run with this story, published, unpublished.

anyway, I'd like to say that since i know how to end my other book, i'll end this book before summer ends. my other one will be finished before my school year ends.
