Despite having Stuart's attention, he'd still sort of leave her out of the conversations he had with Astrid. Sometimes, he'd glance at Aurora and try to add her into the conversation, but that wouldn't last long.

Aurora gave up and poked at John's side. "What, coat rack?" He glared down at her.

This would've scared the old Aurora, the one who hadn't known about John's soft spot. "Oh, nothing." She giggled, messing around with the straw in her drink.

John dismissed this and continued eating, which annoyed Aurora.

"It's just..." John sighed and put his food down, staring at her smiley face, "I wanted to thank you for the whole 'go for it thing' you really helped."

"Did it?" He asked, he motioned over to Stu and Astrid, still absorbed in each other.

"He talks to me a lot more, it makes me really happy."

"Well, isn't that grand?" John mimicked her cheery state and sipped his drink. "Hey now, don't act like you don't know what happiness is!" Aurora wiggled her eyebrows, forgetting that John couldn't see them under her bangs.

He gave her a questioning stare.

"The poetry." Aurora chimed, doing a dumb little dance next to John, who scooted his chair a bit away from her. "What?"

"I know about it, about her." Aurora smiled sweetly at John, "Your sweet Julia."

John froze, his eyes down cast, staring at his hands. His hands balled into fists that settled on his lap.

"It's so cute, really." Aurora gushed, "She sounds real lovely.. I'm jealous that you have someone like that."

She looked over at John, his eyes were dark, almost empty. The look on his face was something Aurora couldn't even picture. It was pain. He was hurt by something.

"Jo-"

He stood up from the table, the chair legs screeching loudly against the floor. He gathered his things and left the restaurant, Aurora watched him walk off through the glass window
