Tears

Tanya was sitting in the waiting room for the doctor to come back with some good news. She stared at the floor ready to cry when she heard footsteps. She looked up and saw Kenshi and Ermac.

Tanya's mouth opened and closed trying to form words to say.

"Don't blame yourself. It wasn't your fault" Ermac hugged Tanya. He felt Tanya's tears begin to wet his shoulder.

"Have you seen Suchin?" Kenshi asked. "She said she'd be here"

"N-n-no...  I haven't..." Tanya responded.

Kenshi nodded. "I'm going to ask where Takeda is. Ermac stay here and comfort Tanya."

Ermac nods and continues to comfort Tanya. An hour or so had passed and soon Kenshi and Takeda came back.

"Aunty TanTan!" Takeda hugged Tanya with all strength he has. "Where's Aunty Leena?"

"She's... she's still with the doctor-"

"The hell is the meaning for this!!??" A familiar voice said. They all turned and saw Kitana and her husband Liu Kang.

"This better not be a waste of my time." Kitana responded. She sat down and looked away from them. After five minutes, the doctor returned.

"I'm sorry to inform you all... Mileena is in a coma." The doctor said. "I'm sorry"

Tanya began to cry. Takeda didn't know what was going on. He saw the sad looks on everyone's faces and guessed it wasn't good news.

"Where is she?" Kitana said.

"Straight down this hall and take a left. She's in room 8909" the doctor answered.

Kitana ran down the hall going to Mileena's room. She didn't think it was this serious. If it were minor she would be gone, or not even here. Once she got to her room, she collapsed to the floor crying. Her sister, lying unconscious. Her own blood, tubes connecting to her in ways she never wanted to see.

Tanya came in, helping her up. She hugged her.

"I know..." Tanya whispered to her. "She will wake up."

"....If she doesn't?" Kitana replied breathlessly. Tanya didn't expect that kind of question. Hell, she wasn't even ready for that question.

"She will. Believe me she will."

Takeda was in the gift shop getting Mileena something with Ermac at his side. Kenshi was still waiting for his ex girlfriend Suchin. It has been almost an hour and she still hasn't arrived. He went inside the gift shop beginning to give up on her arrival.

"I want to get her flowers! The big ones!" Takeda said pointing to a bouquet with a mix of red, pink, white, and yellow flowers.

"Of course. She'll love those." Ermac smiled but it soon went to a frown.

"Papa Ermac?"

Ermac began to tear up a bit. "I'm sorry. I was just thinking. If-if it were you like the way Mileena is and- I'm sorry" he wiped away a tear.

Takeda pulled on his jacket. Ermac lowered himself to meet Takeda's level. Takeda hugged him and kissed his cheek.

"It's ok papa Ermac. I'm ok. TanTan is ok. Aunty Leena will be too."

Kenshi smiles seeing them care for one another like this. After that, they bought the flowers and headed back to her room.

"Kenshi"

He stopped and turned around. "Suchin! Takeda! Come say hi to your mom"

Takeda turned around. He didn't wave hi nor did he smile at her. "You're late again mom. Thanks." He continued walking until he felt a hand placed on his shoulder. He sighed and walked back to hug his mom and say hi.

"Hi mom" Takeda said in a monotone voice. He walked back to Ermac to head back to Mileena's room.

"He still hasn't forgiven me." She said sadly.

"I tried to make him understand but" he sighed. "He's a very stubborn boy. He expects everything to go as planned. He felt like you broke a promise with him."

"I know that. I still can't believe you let him around Ermac. Are you sure he isn't-"

"For the last time! He isn't influencing our son to act like this with you!"

"I'm just making sure."

"Is that all you came here for? Did you come here to see him or not?"

"Well he's ok-"

"Emotionally? No. Not by the way he talked to you. At least go out and have lunch with him or something."

"I can't. I have to go."

"This is why he doesn't like talking or spending time with you. You leave just as soon as you get here. At least say bye to him."

She sighed, nodding her head. Kenshi told her the directions to the room. She headed down the hall finding the room. She knocked on the door.

"Yes?" Tanya said answering the door. "Who are you?"

"Takeda's mom."

"Oh. Takeda! Come here."

He went to Tanya and looked up at his mom. He pouted at her.

"I'm sorry Takeda. Mommy has to go"

"I know."

She knelt down, opening her arms waiting for a hug. He hugged her.

"I love you Takeda."

"Back at ya momma."

She went back the way she came from passing Kenshi down the hall.

Kitana was stuck taking care of Takeda for a little bit while everyone else went to get something to eat. Takeda was waiting for his dads to come back with good food while Kitana was just eating some packed fruit she had. She did offer him some but he wasn't a big fan of fruit most of the time.

"Do you want to do something for Mileena?"

Takeda's little face beamed with happiness. "Like what?"

"Have you ever made a flower crown?"

Takeda shook his head no. "What's that?"

"How about I show you." She grabbed a flower from a bouquet she got her sister. "You'll like it I'm sure"

Takeda was amazed at how she easily made flowers connect with each other like so. She soon handed him the part she finished. Takeda took it, trying to finish it off. Kitana giggled at his little pouts when he failed a bit. She helped him finally finish it and place it on Mileena's head.

"Good job"

"Thank you!" He smiled.

Minutes went by and soon the two fell fast asleep in a chair. Takeda hugged her arm, smiling. He always thought she was rude and would never like her. But... he was wrong.
