Hearing a knock at my apartment door, I grabbed my purse and quickly approached my bathroom mirror to check on my appearance. I had dressed myself up quite nice, I was wearing a black bodycon dress that lengthened to mid thigh and had spaghetti straps that hung over my shoulders. Over the top of that, I had a nice blue denim jacket and to finish I wore some black wedges. This was a little different to what I would normally wear, so I guess I was a bit out of my comfort zone. But I wanted to look good, especially for my date with Duff. My hair was styled with some curls and I also had on a little bit of makeup, eye-liner, mascara and some red lipstick. I didn't look too bad.

Rushing to the front door, I opened it to see Duff standing there with a nervous smile and a bouquet of flowers in hand. "Hey Shell." Duff breathed, his golden eyes took in my entire appearance. "I got these for you." Duff announces extending his arms out with the bouquet of red and white roses.

"Aww Duff, you shouldn't have gotten me flowers." I blushed with a sweet smile.

Duff let out a small chuckle. "I couldn't help myself." He watched as I took the bouquet from his grasp and briefly inhaled the scent of the roses. They smelt like they had been freshly picked, so it was absolutely lovely. While I had done that, I took the time to admire his appearance. He wore black tie-up leather pants, a white long sleeve dress shirt and a black leather jacket over the top. As much as he still didn't look like he used to; not as healthy, he looked good.

"I'll put these in a vase, come in." I step back into my apartment and go to the kitchen. My apartment wasn't anything special, although the kitchen, dining and lounge area was all open and down a hall was two bedrooms, a bathroom and laundry. My room, which had it's own private bathroom was the biggest out of the two rooms and quite frankly, the nicest too. It was a cute little apartment and it was cheap, so that was the bonus.

While I dug into a cupboard in the kitchen, Duff went to explore my apartment. I didn't mind that he did that, but there wasn't much to explore, it was quite basic at the moment. I only had a couple of photos around the place and it was just some family photos and old friend photos. I didn't have any pictures of Duff and I though, when I left him, I didn't have anything of us. It was all left back in our apartment we shared, which I never went back to.

"Nice place." Duff comments as I finally found the vase and filled it of water before chucking the flowers in.

"Thanks." I carried the vase over to the wooden coffee table that was in front of my three seater lounge. Sitting it directly down in the middle, I smiled and turned back to see Duff was looking at the photos on the shelf.

"I didn't know you came back for the birth of the twins." Duff notes, seeing a photo of me sat with Alison and Izzy as I held onto the two twins. They were newborns there.

"Yeah, I helped Izzy and Ali out for a week or so." I nodded.

"They never mentioned that." He hummed.

"Really? I would have thought Alison would have bragged about that to everyone." I sighed, watching as he picked up that photo of me holding the newborns.

"Nah, she never said anything." He shrugged. "Babies are a good look for you Shell." He compliments, gazing back at me with a smile.

"Everyone looks good holding a baby." I shrugged.

"Not everyone." He shook his head and placed the photograph back down, that was when he turned to face me. "You'd make an amazing mom, Shell. I'm sorry for being the reason of holding you back from being one." He apologised. "You don't say it, but I knew how much you wanted kids."

"Holding me back? I'm confused, why are you sorry?" I frown at him.

Duff's hands fiddled around his leather pants, he appeared to be nervous again. "I went and got tested, just out of curiosity. You know, jizz in a cup? Semen analysis or whatever they call it." Duff paused. "Well it turns out, I have a low sperm count and something about the motility is fucked." His eyes found it hard to concentrate on me.
