We walked for miles, with our hands tied behind our backs and surrounded by soldiers who would not hesitate to kill us if we do as much as flinch.

Hatter was still unconscious even though he was being dragged through the dirt. His top hat was being held by Eeacker who had almost thrown away the top hat if it hadn't been for Laurens who managed to convince him.

As we finally got out of the woods, a huge castle came in to view. It was made of stone with red or black tops. Stone walls with red heart tips surrounded the whole castle, keeping out any trespassers. Before we could reach the castle walls, we had to go through a town.

The town was not as lively as I thought it would be. Well, it was a little expected nonetheless, seeing that this area is ruled by a tyrant. As we passed, the townspeople quickly stepped out of the way as to avoid being trampled by the Bandersnatch or the soldiers or both.

The townspeople also seemed poor and lived in poverty, seeing how their clothes were torn with dirt on their faces- humans and creatures alike.

We reached the castle walls after a shameful walk through the town. The huge red gates opened, letting us in. We were led to a throne room where a red carpet led to a throne, a magnificent heart window behind it. Servants and guards stood by the throne, staring at us as we were forced to kneel in front of the throne. Hatter, however, was thrown to the floor with a loud Thump.

The rectangular room was decorated with red banners with a black heart on it.

Hatter slowly stirred next to me, sitting up with a low groan. He sat up slowly and glanced at me.

"Where are we?" He asked lowly.

"Hell..." I heard Lafayette mutter to my left.

"Why, the most beautiful place in all the land!" We heard someone with a British accent say behind us. The four of us looked at the entrance of the throne room to see the King of Hearts holding a small scepter and a smile on his face. He trotted to the front of the throne. Eacker bowed as little as The King stood in front of him.

Wow. I imagined him completely different. You know, with a menacing glare or someone who is fat and ugly. But this king looked nothing like that.

The King wore a red tailcoat with a lighter red waistcoat. Lace ruffles appeared at his wrist and a ring decorated his right pinky finger. He also wore a white bow tie, black trousers, and black shoes. He had white hair tied into a ponytail by a black ribbon and pale blue eyes. To top it all off, he wore a gold crown which was slanted to the right a little.

"Good morning Eacker!" The King smiled at Eacker who stared at The King with a stone-faced look.

"Morning, sire," Eacker replied.

"Ooh!" The King gasped. "What do you have there?"

"It's the madman's hat, sire," Eacker said as he handed the King Hatter's top hat. The King inspected the hat, turning it from one side to the other.

"It is extraordinary craftsmanship!" The King smiled as he faced Hatter. "Did you make this?"

Hatter muttered something under his breath before glaring at The King.

"Hm, no matter." The King placed the top hat back on Batter's head. "It's a pretty hat." He turned and took a seat on the throne.

"Now, what have you brought me this time, Eacker?" The King asked, crossing his legs.

"Sire, we have found who stole last week's tarts," Eacker started. The King perked up at the news and glanced at Pheacker.

"Really? Who?" He exclaimed.

"One of your butlers ate all your tarts."

The King hummed, picking at his nails. "Well, off with his head then! We're holding a public execution first thing tomorrow."

"Guards, seize Hopkins," The King ordered some guards that stood by the door. "What else?"

"First we have the March Hare and a rat."

"Rat?!" Laurens sat up though was held down by a soldier who stood next to him. "Who you calling a rat, asshole?!"

"Uh, Mon ami," Lafayette started. "I think he was talking about me..."

"The Hare I have no use for," The King waved him off. "He shall join Hopkins tomorrow."

"And of the dormouse?" Eacker asked.

"I heard he was dumb enough to fight the Bandersnatch," The King hummed. "Give him a spot as a guard." The King hummed. "Next."

"Next, we have some..." Eacker stared at me. "Girl..."

"I am not a girl!" I hissed.

"Then why are you wearing that dress?" The King pointed at me.

"Because I woke up wearing it! I didn't choose to wear it!"

"You look and sound familiar..." The King stared at me. "Have we met?"

"I don't think so."

There was silence for awhile before the King pointed at me with his scepter.

"I need a new butler. Would you fancy being one?"

"Why would I want to be one? Aren't I already dead?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Look, he has humor too," The King laughed. "It's settled, you're my new butler."

"Lastly, the Mad Hatter," Eacker said.

"Hey!" The King sat up. "I remember you! You stole one of my butlers before!"

"Hm?" Hatter asked. "I don't remember anything like it." I already hear the sarcasm in voice and I could tell the King too, which (by the face he was making) is something he did not approve. I jabbed Hatter with my elbow but he stared at me with a confused look, soon accompanied by a small sigh.

"Off with your head!" The King said. "First thing tomorrow. Eacker, we have a busy day tomorrow, get ready!"

"Yes, sire," Eacker bowed for the last time before signaling the guards to take Hatter and Laurens away with him. I wanted to chase after him though, it's not easy when your hands are tied behind your back and with guards standing behind you, ready to restrain any movement you made.

Actually, what the fuck am I talking about? Hatter's an ass and I shouldn't care if he get's killed. And we've only met yesterday, it's not like we're childhood friends. I'm just someone who hit their head on a rock or something and made up some character who's an ass because every movie has that type of character.

"You two are now working for me. My servants will get you dressed and you will start working tomorrow. Also, attend the execution. Morning executions are the best," The King said before signaling the guards. The guards untied our hands before we picked ourselves off the floor. "Now, get dressed. Off you go."
