I sighed quietly as I pressed myself against a wall with Hatter by my side. He didn't talk much, just fiddled with his top hat. I crossed my arms, huffing.

"Where the fuck is that rat?" I asked quietly so the soldiers couldn't hear a word we said. Hatter shrugged, shaking his head lightly.

"He's probably talking with Angelica again." Hatter coughed slightly. I saw the familiar annoying short man approaching us, his tall white ears in the air.

"Got it!" He exclaimed as he stopped in front of us. I shushed him, pointing to the walls and then to my ears. I had told them about the encounter with Eacker but I guess nothing is going to stop Hamilton. Not even the Knave of Hearts with potential suspicion that could lead us to getting killed.

"I have the keys." Hamilton held up a small ring of keys with his pointer finger and a smug smile on his face. He threw it slightly in the air and caught it, walking off.

"Alright, follow me."

"Fuckin' show off..." I grumbled as Hatter chuckled next to me. We both followed Hamilton down the halls of the gigantic castle, hiding once we saw guards or soldiers patrolling the hallways.

The journey to the towers was suspiciously quiet. I expected like a small groan from Hatter or a small fight between us two but there was nothing. Hatter seemed... calm for once. Even though we were doing something that potentially can get us killed in an instant.

"So," I smiled at him, causing him to give me a confused look. "How was your day."

"Please, Thomas, I don't want another word from you," Hatter sighed. "I've had a rough day and I don't want to get a migraine because of you."

There we go, there's the usual Hatter I know.

"I'm flattered," I hum, and say nothing for the rest of the trip. Because It's not like I'm picking fights with him on purpose. Well, kind of but whatever. What I'm trying to say is that I'm not trying to give him a migraine on purpose. The bickering just reminds me of... home I guess. When Jane and I would get into meaningless fights and then laugh about it later. You could say that fighting with Hatter is kind of like that.

But of course, I don't want to get into deep, sorrowful fights with him! It's actually far from that. I want fights that don't really have meaning to them, something that can be laughed upon when looked backed to.

We all stood in front of a solid black iron door, it's doors locked shut. Hamilton searched for the right key before unlocking the door and creaking it open.

The room was pitch black, the only light source is the moon coming from the small barred window in the middle of the wall.

"So, who's going first?" I asked. No one said anything before Hatter pushed Hamilton inside.

"Oh, why me?!" Hamilton whispered though he slowly entered. We followed him from behind. Hamilton's ears perked up, his ears twitching.

"Somethings here!" He whispered, quickly backing up. I felt Hatter press up against me, quivering.

"Don't be scared, I'm here," I whispered to him. Hatter jumped a little, making me chuckle.

"I'm not scared, idiot!" He grumbled, smacking my arm with the back of his hand. The door shut behind us, causing Hamilton to jump slightly.

"Motherfucker-" Hamilton breathed out. We stood in the moon's light in the middle of the room, hearing some sort of growling and screeching.

"Holy shit..." Hatter cursed under his breath. I saw where he was looking and I almost let out a gasp. In the corner of the room was the same creature that pinned me down in that forest before, though now it was much bigger- or regular sized since he was as tall as a blade of grass that day. His neck was firmly chained to the wall, so he couldn't reach us even if he tried.

The Bandersnatch was a gigantic white creature, with huge paws accompanied with long claws. It also had black horns protruding from its head and when it opened its mouth in a small roar, it had rows of sharp teeth. Its fur was a little curly in some way and its eyes were a dark shade of hazel, twinkling with frightening malice.

On Hamilton's side was a huge bird. It was black with a long arched neck and terrifying talons. It screeched and hissed, though the chain around its neck prevented it from moving. There was also some headgear on its face, preventing it from seeing anything.

"Are you sure we're in the right room?" I hissed to Hamilton.

"Positive..." Hamilton mumbled.

"There!" Hatter pointed at the chest in the corner of the room- right next to the Bandersnatch. The Bandersnatch snapped its huge jaws at us, practically warning us to back the fuck off.

"I vote Hamilton to get it!" I partially faced Hamilton. He glared at me, opening his mouth in a small scowl.

"What?!" Hamilton exclaimed. "I literally did everything for you fucks, how about you two do something for once instead of having your fingers up each others' ass?"

"Because if that thing attacks, the least important dies first!" I grinned.

"No, fuck you guys. Alice you go," He harshly pushed me towards the Bandersnatch. The Bandersnatch didn't really take well when I invaded its personal space...

"Is there some trick or some shit I should do?" I quietly asked the two men behind me. They said nothing, prompting me to slowly step toward the chest. The beast growled at me, as I touched the chest. I quickly threw the covering and tried to open it.

"Shit..." I sighed. "It's locked."

"Hamilton, do you have the key?" Hatter asked, Hamilton, looked through the key ring but shook his head.

"It should be around here somewhere..." Hamilton answered. I felt heavy breathing behind me and I had almost turned around if it hadn't been for Hatter shaking his head furiously to the side.

"Please hurry up," I muttered out as I felt the Bandersnatch sniffing me. I heard it growl and grunt behind me and it's breathing sounding farther away from me. I turned my head to see it on the floor, its head on its paws as Hamilton stood in front of it. Hamilton slowly reached out a hand, petting the Bandersnatch's head.

The Bandersnatch whimpered, letting out a deep exhale as Hamilton crouched in front of it.

"Phillip?" He asked suddenly. "Is that you?"

The Bandersnatch lowered its head, nodding somewhat.

"Oh, what has he done to you?!" Hamilton was in tears now, burying his face in the Bandersnatch's fur. "Phillip, I thought you had died all these years and you... you were just here! In this hell-hole." Hamilton sighed, taking the Bandersnatch's face into his hands. "Don't worry Pip, I promise to get you out here, and your mother can finally see you."

"What the fuck is going on..." I sighed out as Hatter stood next to me.

"The key's around his neck!" Hatter pointed out. Hamilton quickly pulled the key from Phillip's neck, tossing it to me. I opened the chest, revealing a sharp, shiny sword with some markings engraved on it. I slowly took it out, inspecting it.

"It's a beauty..." Hatter muttered next to me. He had quickly got up, dragging me to my feet. "But we have to hurry, the guards could come in any second.

Hamilton unlocked the chain around Phillip's neck with one of the keys before nodding to us.

"We're coming back for you Phillip," Hamilton muttered before we all ran out of the chamber.
