Newt POV

We'd gotten out of the maze. We were free and it was all thanks to Tommy. Sure we'd lost people but it was inevitable. Some deaths were harder to deal with than others like Alby and Chuck. I was closer to Alby since he was the first up and I was second meaning we had time to bond before anyone else came up. And Chuck was too young, we all were but Chuck more so, we thought we were free when when he was suddenly taken from us by the hands of a stung Gally who is also lying dead just a few metres from Chuck.

Since we'd gotten on the helicopter nobody had spoken. My thoughts were stuck on Ava Paige and the flare. Maybe it would help people but couldn't they have found a better way one that didn't kill off all those kids. Paige was a sick, cruel women if she could bare to do that to children. She may have shot herself but why didn't I believe it? Was Paige truely dead?

I was snapped out of my thoughts when someone shouted about landing and I saw we were approaching a facility that seemed large and well guarded. I didn't buy it. Maybe I was being paranoid but I wasn't going to trust them, maybe after a long whilst but not anytime soon.

We left the helicopter and headed inside the facility as these monsters attacked and others with guns shot at them killing them. Thy were killing cranks. I studied one of the cranks and what I saw horrified me. It had bulging blue veins with what looked like vines growing from them, dark blue liquid poured from their mouths and blue nearly black eyes bore into mine as my eyes connected with that of the unseeing creature. It ran straight towards me.

As it was 5 feet away from me it was shot down and I was told to jeep running not realising I'd stopped until Minho was dragging me along. We ran into the huge metal doors and saw equipment stacked into huge boxes and people running around some going outside with guns and others running to do something or other.

"Anyone else not buying it?" I said out loud but didn't get an answer. I stopped my scrutinising to look at the other gladers. They were all too busy gawking to hear what I said. No matter what any of them said I wasn't trusting these people, not at all.
