Me: hello?
Trey: where's malassia?
Me: she's sleeping.
Trey: where?
Me: don't worry we're still at the hospital.
Trey: I'm coming to get her.
Me: wait. I need to speak to you.
The line went silent so I carried on.
Me: what do you know about who stabbed Jerome?
Trey: all I know is the address.
Me: alright. Text it to malassias phone.
Trey: it's already sorted.
Me: I know. I appreciate that I just need to know.
Trey: kool.
I hung up waiting for the text, as soon as it came through I forwarded it to myself deleting the messages off her phone. I couldn't help but go through it. I sent myself a few pictures that she took of her and our 2 children even though I know I shouldn't because it makes my want my family back together again.
Malassia: what time is it?
I locked her phone putting it back in my pocket since she woke up and I didn't want her to see me lurking through her pictures.
Me: just gone passed 8am
She lifted her head up off my chest sitting on my lap properly.
Me: how was your sleep?
Malassia: good thanks.
Me: your boy said he's coming for you.
Malassia: trey?
I nodded holding onto her leg as she looked at me confused.
Me: he just called your phone.
Malassia: and you spoke to him?
Me: yeah.
She sighed out looking over to Jerome who was still sleeping. I squeezed her thigh to make her look back at me.
Me: he's gonna be okay. You need to go home and get some proper sleep. You have work tomorrow.
Malassia: what about tonight?
Me: don't worry about it. You can meet her another time.
Malassia: I wanna meet her though.
Me: baby, listen to me.
Malassia: I'm serious jabari. I won't mess you guys up.
Me: that's not what I'm worried about.
Malassia: what then?
We both stood up as we saw trey walk past the window since I don't think he would be too happy about her sitting on my lap with my hand on her thigh. He popped his head around the door.
Trey: baby are you ready?
Me: yeah. I'll be out in a second.
He went back out the room leaving us.
Malassia: can I have my phone please?
Me: here. And make sure you get some rest.
I watched her as she walked out.
Jerome: you two should just get married.
I spun around to see him grinning.
Me: how long have you been awake?
Jerome: long enough.

MALASSIAS POV:
I sat in trey's car massaging his neck with my right hand as he drove to my house.
Trey: how is he?
Me: he's awake now. Just still recovering from losing alot of blood.
Trey: I told you he will be okay.
I nodded answering the phone to my mum.
Me: hello mummy.
Mum: are you okay?
Me: yeah I'm fine
Mum: what time is trey coming to get Lisa?
Me: what?
I looked at trey confused.
Trey: sorry baby I forgot to tell you I spoke to your mum this morning. She was trying to call you but you wasn't picking up so she called me. I told her I'll get Lisa later on because she's going out.
Me: oh. She said what time?
Trey: in about an hour
Me: did you hear that mum?
Mum: yeah. I'll see you later.

I lay down in my bed rubbing trey's arms that were around me.
Me: why do you have such a close relationship with my mum?
Trey: aren't I supposed to?
Me: even when we weren't together you was still really close.
Trey: I don't know. I guess she helps me alot and we only live a few doors down from each other.
Me: besides your cousin, I don't really know any of your family.
Trey: because I don't see my family often. Only on special occasions.
Me: doesn't that feel weird?
Trey: I'm used to it. I moved to a whole other city when I left school so I expected to not see them all as often as I used to.
Me: would you ever move back closer to them?
Trey: and move further away from you?
Me: I mean if I was to come with you?
Trey: would you?
Me: I don't know, do you think we could do long distance?
Trey: I don't think so
Me: I mean the sex wouldn't be as often.
Trey: it's more than that though.
Me: like what?
Trey: I just want you close to me. We can't get married and have children together if we're not in the same place.
Me: physically or mentally?
Trey: both. In that scenario it's physically. Right now it's mentality.
Me: you think I don't want to marry you and have your child?
Trey: right now I know that's the last thing on your mind.
Me: what's that supposed to mean?
I turned around so we were now facing each other.
Trey: you don't put me first.
Me: that's not true.
Trey: baby, I'm not coming at you. I'm just telling you.
I knew he was right but I still didn't want to admit it. I'm trying my best to make us last but at the same time my focus is not on him.
Me: do you think it's okay for you to get engaged to someone without them meeting your parents?
Trey: so you wanna meet my parents first?
Me: that's not what I'm saying.
Trey: that's what it sounds like to me.
Me: I just don't really know much about you trey. I would've never known about your brother if jabari didn't hint it to me.
Trey: I'm a closed person so I can't help it. You know I would of told you about my past eventually. I just find it hard to trust people with my feelings.
Me: I just feel like I don't know you as much as I should.
Trey: so why have you never mentioned this before?
Me: because I feel like if you're not doing or saying something it's for a reason right?
Trey: baby, I want you to be my wife. That means I want you to become one with me. So whatever you feel like I'm holding back on or keeping from you let me know and let us talk about it and get it all out on the table.
I smiled at him rubbing on his beard. I guess he's serious about us. I need to make a decision real fast.
Trey: I'm gonna go and get lisa from your mum's and my daughter from my cousin's. I'll be back later.
I nodded as he kissed my forehead leaving the room. How is he so calm about the fact that I'm putting jabari and his family before him. I know if I was with jabari and it was the other way around he would flip out on me like crazy.
Maybe we should stay together and finally get married.
