3rd Chapter; The Eve – EXO
An hour and a half later I found myself in a club called 'EGO' which didn't seem very appealing if I was being honest. But since Jongup promised to stay by my side, I was feeling more comfortable than I would normally. At this point I had completely forgotten about Junhong.
"What do you wanna drink, y/n?" Jongup asked me over the loud music booming in the background and I just shrugged.
"You know what I like, surprise me." I shouted back and he disappeared into the crowd with a smile.
So much for staying by my side.
I wandered around the area a little bit and found Jinyoung's group soon enough. They welcomed me with open arms and I joined them in their corner.
They introduced themselves and I introduced myself. I got along with Jinyoung pretty well, but I hadn't met any of his friends yet, so I felt a bit awkward at first. But after Jongup had returned with some drinks, the mood was lifted immediately.
We talked a bit and laughed a lot. After a while my drink was empty and I decided to get a new one, so I went over to the bar.
The bartender walked over to me and I told him what I wanted. In the dim light of the club I stared at the man.
He seemed somewhat familiar.
"Do I know you?" I asked him with squinted eyes. He looked up from the glass he was filling and flashed me a quick smile. If it hadn't been so dark I would have said he was blushing, but I didn't know.
"Maybe. Maybe not." His voice seemed oddly familiar as well and I took a closer look at him, as far as it was possible in the dim light.
His hair was styled back with what seemed like a ton of hair gel and he was wearing earrings.
"Your drink, ma'am." He said and pushed the glass in my direction.
"Thank you. But I can't figure out where I know you from." He smiled again and looked into my eyes.
"I would tell you, but I don't feel like it. But I looked different when we met." He ran a hand through his dark hair and I smiled back at him.
He sure was handsome.
I shrugged and returned to the corner with my glass and sat down next to Jongup again.
He was currently in a heated conversation with BamBam and didn't seem to notice that I had returned. I didn't think he had even noticed that I was gone in the first place.
After I had finished my drink again I was getting tired so I leaned against Jongup's shoulder. He had calmed down again after they had finished the argument with a game of rock-paper-scissors. Truly children at heart.
Jongup put his arm around me, seemingly not noticing what he was doing, until Jackson asked him a question.
"How long have you two been together?" Jongup almost spit out the drink he was having and stared at the brown haired guy.
"We're friends, Jackson." I answered for Jongup and kept getting more tired as time passed.
"Uh, yeah, no. We're not a couple." I heard Jongup mumble and lifted my head from his shoulder.
"I'm going home, I'm tired. See ya tomorrow at the studio." I got up and said goodbye to everyone. As I was on my way to leave, someone grabbed my arm.
"I'm coming with you, I'll bring you home." It was Jongup and he looked quite exhausted.
"Okay." Was the only thing I said, I was too tired to say anything else.

"See you tomorrow." Jongup said and turned around, wanting to leave.
"You didn't ask for a hug." I protesting, holding my arms out, already half asleep.
Jongup sighed before he turned around to pull me into a short embrace.
"Good night, Jongup~ah." I said and lay down on my bed. He had brought me into my apartment and even waited until I had changed my clothes to bring me to bed.
He left without another word and it didn't take long for me to fall asleep.

Jongup's POV

"NO, I brought her home, it's fine. She's asleep. No, no, you didn't do anything, man. I'm going to sleep now too, bye." I hung up and stood on the sidewalk in silence. It had started raining as soon as I left her apartment building.
And here I was, standing in the rain, feeling nothing but pain.
"Just friends, huh?" I mumbled to myself and started walking in the direction of my own house.
As the rain poured down on me, my phone rang again.
"What?" I asked harshly, not knowing who the caller was.
"It's Bang. We have a job to do. You can't just take her home like that and not tell anyone about it, Moon." His deep voice was unreadable as always.
"I had to. She would have gone alone otherwise. And Zelo is not responding to anything." I replied coldly, staring at the pavement in front of me.
"Do your job and nothing more. Now come to the club, we need to talk." The call ended and I looked around me. Seeing that no one was there who could have seen me, I kicked the car next to me and crashed the window. Then I ran away, through the rain back to the club.

"You talked to her, right?" I asked the boss as we were sitting in the backstage room we used for our meetings.
He nodded, running a hand through his dark hair, which was styled back.
"Did she suspect anything?" I asked again, slightly being worried about her.
"No. She didn't even recognize me." The boss answered and I caught a glimpse of disappointment in his eyes.
"Why do you even bother with that stupid girl? She's holding us back." Yoo rolled with his eyes and leaned back in his chair.
Bang shook his head.
"You don't understand how important that stupid girl is. She could help us get rid of them entirely." Yoo didn't look very convinced.
"She works in a café. How is that helpful?" he said, earning a glance from Chan.
"Sorry, but you at least own it and have one of us working there. Speaking of, where the fuck is Zelo?" Yoo looked around the table.
"He's at home, didn't answer any texts or calls. I knocked on his door, no answer either." I answered.
Bang nodded and stared at the table, seemingly thinking about something.
"Chan, do you know anything?" Jung asked. Chan shrugged and adjusted his long leather coat.
"I think she said he was sick at home. A fever or something. I couldn't reach him either."
"Someone should check on him tomorrow. He could be dead, we'd wanna get rid of the corpse." Bang said, cold as ever.
If y/n had heard this, she'd have killed him.
I sighed and got up from the chair I had sunken into.
"Where are you going?" Bang asked.
"Home. I need to do some things." I just said and walked out of the backstage area and out of the club.
What was this weird feeling in my chest?
