*Penny's POV*
He hit me. Oh my god, he hit me.
After he left, I ran to the bathroom, where I've been power crying on the toilet for ten minutes.
What was I going to do?
Definitely not tell my brothers. If there was one thing Tobias Weaver was good at, it was keeping his promises, or rather, his threats. If I told the boys, or even Jas, they'd confront him and it'd be all over for them. I'm not going to be responsible for making my siblings life a living hell. I refuse to put them through that. Just because my life sucks, doesn't mean theirs have to too.I wiped the tears off my cheeks, one of them still red and stinging and probably bruising, before putting on a strong face.
There was a sudden knock at the door, startling me half to death.
"Did you fall in?" I heard Winn's voice from the other side.
I cleared my throat, hoping he couldn't tell that I was crying through my quivering voice."Uh- I'm good! I'll be out in a minute." I told him while getting up to look into the mirror.
"Alright." He replied as I heard his footsteps retreat. His answer seemed hesitant, but he gladly let it go.
I wiped off a few more escaped tears before fixing my hair and straightening myself out. I caught a glimpse of my cheek. It was already turning a bright shade of red, soon to be purple. I definitely couldn't walk into the Theater room all happy-go-lucky as if I didn't have a bruise the shape of a handprint on my cheek.
Slowly and careful, I opened the bathroom door. I checked in both directions, making sure no one was around. My purse, which contained my makeup bag, was on the kitchen counter.
I quietly tip toed out of the bathroom and towards the kitchen, where I was successfully able to grab my bag and run back to the bathroom.
I locked the bathroom door behind me, making sure no one could walk in on me covering what my father had done.
With a little foundation and a ton of concealer, I was able to hide the bruise.
I sighed, trying to mentally prepare myself to walk into the theater room with a brave face like nothing ever happened.I held my shoulders back and my head up high as I walked out of the bathroom and towards the theater room. I walked through the arch way, coming upon the sight of my siblings relaxing and watching the end of the movie. I quietly walked in and took a seat, hoping to go unnoticed. Unfortunately, I caught Benny's attention.
"Hey, you good?" He asked, also signaling the rest of my siblings to look at me.
I shrugged, trying my hardest to keep my composure.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I'm good. Perfectly okay. Why?"Benny's eyebrows furrowed and I could tell he was suspicious. Maybe I was playing is a little too cool.
"What did Dad say?"
