The four of us sat in a pristine office, staring at the dean, Henson, as he stared back with fire in his eyes.
After that fight between Benny and Seamus, he dragged us to his office, no doubt to give us a punishment. Even though technically, Jas and I weren't apart of the fight."Bennett Weaver." Henson said. "Not the first time you've been in here. Same for you, Mr. Richmond."
Benny slouched in his chair, chewing on his busted lip.
"Do either of you have anything to say for yourselves?" Henson asked while clicking his pen.
"Nope," Benny shrugged.
I swatted his arm and gave him a furious look. If he was going to catch an attitude with the dean, he'd only make it worse."I mean," He sighed as he sat up straight. "I'm very sorry, Mr. Henson. It won't happen again."
As rehearsed as that line sounded, Henson bought it and let Benny leave with cafeteria duty for 3 weeks under his belt. Now it was only Jas, Seamus, and I left.
Henson gave Seamus the same spiel before letting him leave.
He also knew how good of a student Jas was, and let her leave too.Now it was just me.
Alone.
In the Dean's office.
Serving time for a crime I did not commit."Ah, the newest Weaver. Never thought we'd get another one of you." He sighed.
I wiggled in my seat nervously and twiddled my thumbs.
"Trust me, theres a whole litter." I chuckled awkwardly."How was your first day at Wadlington?" He asked while his glasses tilted to the bridge of his nose.
"So far, pretty eventful. And it's only 11:23." I smiled.
He grinned a little before slouching back into his seat. This man reminded me a lot of my father; established, clean cut, pristine. Technically by default, I had every right to hate this man simply because of that. But, I digress.
"Miss Weaver, we have zero tolerance for violence on Wadlington campus—"
"Am I in trouble?" I asked, cutting his sentence short.
He sighed and looked at me through his thin glasses."No. But for the love of God, please keep your brother in check. One more time in this office and I'll have no choice but to suspend him from Wadlington."
I nodded sternly while gathering my bag and blazer off the floor.
"Yes, Sir. I'll make sure he keeps his nose clean."With one final decisive nod, I quickly scurry out of his office and into the hallway of the administration building. Benny and Jas sat on a bench waiting patiently, but stood as I approached. We began a descent out of the building and back onto the quad, where people whispered and gossiped most likely about Benny's fight.
