The rec room was on the second floor, so I hooked arms with Jay and we began our trip up the stairs.

"Don't say anything smart ass-ish when you meet my family." I warn. Knowing Jay, she definitely had something to say.

"What? Darling, Peanut, I would never!" She smiled, causing me to roll my eyes.

"Yeah, right. You have no filter."

"Is there any other way to live?" She chuckled as we reach the top of the steps.
We turned left and walked into a long stretch of hallway.
Pictures of my family were scattered amongst most of the walls.

"This is your family?" Jay asked while staring at a picture of all of us.
It was a framed photo of our trip to Hong Kong last year.
We looked happier then.

"Yup. That's the Weaver's." I sighed.

I dragged her away from the photo and down the rest of the hall. At the end of it stood a set of wooden double doors with gold handles.

"This is it." I smiled.
With one pull on one of the handles, the door opened, revealing our rec room and my siblings scattered around it.

In the middle was a large black leather couch and a coffee table. In the right corner, a fuse ball table and a pool table that only Benny and Adam ever used.
There was a bar and a TV station to the far left, stocked with snacks and alcohol.

"Woah," Jaylen muttered.

"Yup," I shrugged.

"Woah!" She said again with a chuckle.

I furrowed my brow and looked at her.
"You said that already,"

"I know, but it seemed worth repeating." She whispered.

As we walked further into the room, all heads turned towards us.
Benny and Adam, who were played an interestingly violent game of pool, stopped their playing.
Jas, who was busy sketching designs for a fashion line she'd been wanting to start, stopped sketching.
Evie, who was texting, stopped typing.
Chris, who was asleep, stayed asleep.
Winn, who was sitting at the bar talking to a girl who looked familiar, stopped chatting.
And Tommy, who was sitting on the leather couch ready some papers, looked up.

The room fell silent as Jay and I stood there awkwardly.

I smiled.
"Is it too late to go back home?"

The silence broke when they all grinned and got up from their seats and activities.
Jas was the first to rush over and hug me.
