~Nicole~
On the ride to the hotel, the travel arrangements for the tour are explained to me and Jess. Basically, we go on tour buses when we are traveling. There isn't enough room for us to sleep on the boys' bus for when we spend nights on the road, so Jess and I will be on the bus where Rose and Sydney stay. When we are in cities for prolonged periods of time, the boys usually get a suite or share a couple of rooms, and Rose and Sydney share a room. They explain that Jess and I will probably share rooms with the two sisters, like we will be doing here in Los Angeles.
My stomach does a little somersault when I hear that I will be in such close proximity to everyone during the tour, but, honestly, what was I expecting? I'll just have to work extra hard to hide my, um, secrets.
"Whats wrong, Nic?" Jess asks.
"What do you mean" I ask.
"You just let out a loud groan and then started mumbling something. You sounded quite upset about something."
"Oh." I blush and slump back in my seat glad I didn't say anything bad aloud.
"Glad you didn't say what aloud?" asks Zayn.
"Nothing. Erm so do you guys use the same set list for every concert?" I ask, changing the subject.
Everyone, except Louis, who looks to be having a deep conversation with himself, and Rose, who is engrossed with her phone, looks at me strangely.
I just expectantly wait for an answer, and finally Liam says, "Mostly."
"Oh."
We spend the rest of the ride in silence and we quickly arrive at the hotel.
Jess unlocks the door of the suite and I scan the room quickly, passing my eyes over it before stepping inside to let them in. There is a door connecting our suite to Liam, Niall, and Zayn's, and Louis and Harry's is next to theirs. There are two bedrooms in addition to the main room and mini kitchen area of the suite, which also has a bathroom with a toilet and sink and another bathroom with a shower and sink.
Rose points to one bedroom. "I moved my stuff into Syd's room so you guys can share that room. Will that be okay?"
We nod and I place my suitcases in our room while Jess goes to take a shower. There's no point in unpacking since we're only going to be here for two more nights, so I get changed and try to make myself comfortable. I then lay on the floor, put my headphones in, and begin to do the 50 sit-ups that I do every morning and night. Actually, now that I think about it, I didn't get to do them this morning so I better make it 100. Anyway, I feel like I'm getting fatter, so it definitely won't hurt.
I finish my sit-ups relatively soon, but I want to get a good workout in so I go into the kitchenette and grab a bottle of water from the mini fridge. I'm about to go searching for the gym when a girl walks out of Rose's bedroom.
It must be Sydney, Rose's sister. I study her features. She looks like Rose, but with bigger eyes that gleam with a hint of mischeif, although her youthful face looks innocent. She isn't wearing makeup, but her features are quite striking so she doesn't need it, anyway. I must say, however, that she looks closer to fifteen than seventeen.
"Hello," I say. "I'm Nicole. And I'm guessing you're Sydney, right?"
She nods enthusiastically and says, "I've been so excited to meet you and Jess! The boys never stop talking about how amazing you girls are! Can I have a hug? Haha I'm a hugger, don't get creeped out or anything, but I"m a total child at heart!"
She remains thoughtful for a millisecond. "Plus I had, like, eight Pepsi's today and they make me really hyper!"
I giggle and give her a quick hug, and Jess walks in, her hair wrapped in a towel. Sydney greets her in the same way she introduced herself to me.
She then says, "I'll be in my room if you need anything!"
When she leaves, Jess says, "Well, she certainly isn't a shrinking violet!"
We both laugh, and I abandon any ideas of going to the gym. Even though I'm not tired, it's too late.
Instead, we sit down in front of the television and watch a news program. It's extremely boring, but neither Jess nor I know any American television channels.
After ten long minutes of staing at the television but not really paying attention, Rose and Sydney walk into the room in their pajamas.
"The boys were going to watch a movie in Liam, Niall, and Zayn's room. They invited all of us, do you want to come?" says Rose.
Jess and I look at each other and then smile and nod.
"Okay, just get into your pajamas, then," says Sydney.
"We'll wait for you!" adds Rose.
I quickly change into a pair of blue and white flannel pants and a black sweatshirt. Jess has a pair of purple sweatpants and a neon green shirt on. We're walking out of the bedroom when my cell phone buzzes.
I glance at my screen discreetly to see who the message is from and my face pales as I say, "Umm, Jess, go ahead. I'll be there in a minute. I just have to use the bathroom. Jess is already across the room, not looking back.
"Okay, Nicole, just don't take too long!"
I reassure her that I'll only be a minute and sit on the bed and open the message. It is from my mum. It reads:
how dare you crowd my answering machine with your messages you little bitch? if i actually cared about you do you think i wouldve kicked your sorry arse out of my house? dont ever call or text me again you piece of trash
I feel tears welling up in my eyes as I scramble to my bag, pull out my knife, and lock myself in the bathroom.
