Chapter Six: Familiar Faces

A metal hand smashed through the glass before I even had the chance to move away. The Cybermen were back to delete us.

I was crouched with my hands over my head when it swung it's heavy metal foot through the broken window.

I was frozen--covered in glass & blood &, soon, tears. Sam had already run down the stairs screaming & I was left alone to face a huge metal man. Again.

It's funny the way the body reacts to adrenaline. Fight or flight?

What's even funnier is the fact that a person will, more often than not, choose the same every time. You're either a hero or a coward.

Well, as it turns out, I must be the later.

While the tinman struggled to force his other leg through the window, I ran to the washroom & climbed into the cupboard under the sink.

I squeezed my eyes shut & listened to my heart race. The last time I was in this position, seemed like a lifetime ago. The day I met the Doctor.

I remembered the pitter-patter of his soft footsteps across my mom's flat.

I could almost hear the buzzing from the blu--wait. Couldn't I?

I opened my eyes to the dark of my little hiding spot & listened for the clang of metal parts or the stomp of heavy feet. But all there was, was the buzzing getting louder & louder--closer & closer.

And once again, I was blinded by blue.
