Xavier's POV (after their break up)
After she left, I quickly punch the wall multiple times until I was tired. I let her go because I figured out I myself was not good for her. She's way too good for me. She's innocent and very fragile. She's tough on the outside but soft in the inside.
'I fell in love with a jerk like you'
That sentence keeps on replaying in my head all over and over again. Is it possible? Am I really in love with her? No, that can't possibly be. I don't easily fall in love with some chick do I?
I've been in my room for days and I barely go out from my room. I knew what I did was wrong. But I did it for her own good.
I finally decided to talk to my Mom. She knows what's best for me. "Mom, can we talk?" I pleaded.
"What is it honey?" We were currently in my room, she was sitting at the edge of my bed while I sat beside her with my hands covering my head.
"I messed up so badly, I messed everything up. There's this girl who I cared for. Every time I'm with her, I feel like protecting her and want to be with her. At first, I was not taking things seriously.
But she made me realize to treasure things no matter how big or small. You haven't seen her but I can tell you she's super amazing. But, we already broke up. I was a jerk for letting her go and for breaking her heart" After I said that, I finally realized something that was making me so confuse of what was happening.
I love her, I fell in love with Layne Andrea Parker
"I think that you already realize your true feelings towards that girl. I was just here to listen to your problem and I'm glad that you are now mature enough to handle your own problems" She said.
I stood up and hug her "Thanks Mom, for everything"
"I'm proud of you son. You're really growing up" she mumbled at my chest.
I decided to go to school the day after I talked to mom. When I arrive, I just ignored all the people around me and went to my locker. I got up to my first subject, physics which is very hard because Layne is my seatmate. But I think now is the perfect timing to settle things between me and her.
I noticed that she's still haven't arrive even though it was only five minutes left before class starts. The teacher arrived still, no sign of Layne anywhere.
By the time the bell rang, I was the first to get out of class and quickly go to Vanessa, my cousin. She's best friend with Layne and I think Vanessa knows where she is.
Before I could speak, she cut me off. "What did you do to her? She's ignoring all my calls and text. Until now, she's still not replying. I went to their house yesterday, but she won't talk to me or even Brandon" She rant. I place my hands on her shoulders to keep her calm.
"We broke up" I said and her eyes widens like their gonna pop out. "Say that again, I think I misunderstood"
"I just told her she's not good enough for me" I mumbled looking anywhere away from her eyes. I looked at Damien and pleaded for help but he just shook his head.
"I thought you were better than that" She sighed and looked at me with a sad expression. Damien wrap his arms around her and whispered something in her ears which calmed her down. A pang of jealousy hit me, I was jealous because I missed that doing to Layne. I already sound like a girl.
'This girl is really making m whip'
I mentally say to myself.
The rest of the day passes in a blur and I was totally sticking to my plan. My plan is to talk to Layne without bumping into Brandon.
I park my Black Ducati at their driveway and took off my helmet. I kept my cool and looked at my self in front of the mirror for the last time.
'I was really excited to see Brandon here'
Note the sarcasm here.
I rang the doorbell nervously hoping it wasn't Brandon who will answer the door. Instead, I came face to face with a guy that I haven't seen before. I'm glad I was taller than him but it was only an inch.
"I came to talk to......" I started but was interrupted by Brandon because he came out of their doorway.
"What are you doing here?" He said through gritted teeth. He was fuming.
"I came here to talk to...." I didn't even get to finish it because his fist already connected to my jaw. I was really caught off guard of what he just did. I didn't expect he'll punch me. The guy from the doorway just watch the both of us with an amused expression plastered on his face.
Brandon kept punching me all over again until he was pulled away from me. I admit, he punches hard enough to make me dizzy. I shook my head because my vision was getting blurry.
And then I saw her, her eyes were red and puffy from crying. I looked at her small frame until it landed at her eyes. We stare at each others eyes for a minute but sadly, she looked away first.
"Layne, I need to talk to you" I pleaded at her.
"No! I told you we are done!" She yelled.
"You. Your self. Let. It. Happen" She said her voice full of venom. With that, I walk off and ride at my motorcycle heading towards nowhere.
Graduation is only two days ahead, last night was the prom. But I didn't bother to go there, there's no sense in going there if I won't enjoy it. Damien and Vanessa were worried about me but I don't care.
I looked at the picture on the nightstand and memories flood back to me just by looking at this picture. Even my phone has pictures of me and her, at the beach, and with our friends. I consume the remaining liquid inside the bottle and hug the picture frame imagining I was hugging Layne and would never leave me alone.
My sight was becoming blurry because of the alcohol until darkness took over my surroundings.
'I always meet thins up. What have I done?'
