- I came to kill you.
- I thought you would.

She replied as her robe touched the floor.

-------------------------------------------------------

- It all started one year ago, back in 1922.
- Yes, the year of the first Money Murder.
- You know that's a ridiculous name, don't you?
- It's how the press has been calling them. And if I were you, I'd start to show some respect.
- I'd show you respect if you were somewhat competent. One year and a half and your best detectives couldn't keep a track on her, you never caught her.

--------------------------------------------------------

Miles arrived in Tabasco in the morning, three days after his last conversation with Alex.

He had sent a telegram to a friend of his who lived in the city.

- Did you see anyone matching the description I gave to you?
- No, and I've been staying at this very train station for 2 days now.
- I think she got away immediately after, then. She just stays if she's being followed, that way she won't lead the stalker to the next city and have two loose ends to take care of.
- Smart girl.
- She is.
- Why are you after her?
- Oh, long story.

Miles thought of not telling the real reasons of why he was chasing Lil to anyone.

- Alright. But since it looks like she's not here anymore then what are you going to do now?
- Wait for another clue. She's taking down all the men who are involved in the death of a person close to her so it's not gonna take long before she kills the next one. If she already hasn't, actually. We're only gonna find out in the morning.
- What if she's across the country?
- Something tells me she's not. I just wish I knew who these men are so I could have a better insight of the situation.
- We can work on that. How many men she took down so far?
- Three.
- If it were only five... but I think maybe we can start tracing a pattern.
- Hopefully.

Miles was right, the next day another death was reported in the papers.

- Jalisco... She must be getting ready to leave. If I had to guess, I'd say Texas is her next stop.
- Texas?
- Yeah, she was here in Tabasco; a small state. Then she moved to Jalisco; a bit larger than here. With all these deaths happening, it's not safe to show up in another small city, it draws too much attention. She needs to go somewhere bigger now and I bet it's Texas.
- Makes total sense.
- Yes. But if I want to get there before her, I better leave. Thanks for everything, Mike.
- Anytime, man. Just a tip, tho.
- Yes?
- Go in the front of the train, anyone who catches a train has to pass by all the other cabins except the ones in the front and since your train will be passing near Jalisco you'll be safer this way.
- Noted.

Miles grabbed his things and hopped on a train to Texas.

And so did Lil.

6 days later.

- ARGH!

Lil hid on the corner of a shop at the main street. It was late and she couldn't see much from the place she was standing.

She had managed to take down her 5th target, but she didn't plan it as carefully as she always did this time around and it turns out the man wasn't alone like all of the others were so she had gotten herself in trouble.

- The same freaking arm! - She touched the arm a bullet had just grazed. A bit of blood was staining her sleeve.

She assumed position and shot blindly again, returning to her hiding place quickly.

- I'm running out of bullets...

I need to get closer and get a clearer view of them and I need to do it right now, police are on the way I have no doubt about that... but how? There's a car parked on the other side of the street, if only I could get to it.
