The music starts, I'm already in love. Then Brendon starts singing and oh my God is he good. I can tell he really enjoys the music, we all can, and it makes the performance a hundred times better.
Halfway through the song, Brendon spots us and grins even more- something I thought wasn't possible. He looks me directly in the eyes. He has gorgeous eyes, for a man.~~~~~
The last song ends and Brendon addresses his audience, "Thanks for coming tonight, everyone, we really appreciate it!"
Uproar behind me.
"Did you all have a good time?" Asks the bassist and does he really need to ask? The crowd cheers again, and this time I join in.
"Goodnight everyone!!" Brendon waves before leaving the stage, followed by his bandmates.
Gradually, people start to clear out.
"Let's stick around, yeah?" Suggests Gerard. I'd almost forgotten he was there.
"Yeah," replies Frank, "I wanna see the rest of the band."
I notice that the hall is empty now, apart from a group of girls who are probably hoping to meet the band.
Brendon comes back onto the stage and sees us immediately.
"What did you think, Ry?" He asks me, jumping down from the stage. The girls don't stir.
"Wow," I manage, which is an understatement.
"You liked it?"
"I loved it."
Brendon looks practically relieved, as if he was waiting for my approval.
Then, the bassist walks onstage, searching for something.
One of the girls screeches, probably wounding all dogs within a hundred-mile radius. I feel like I recognise her voice.
"Oh here we go," sighs the bassist, as the girl makes her way onto the stage and plants a sloppy kiss on his cheek.
Now I recognise her.
My head is spinning.
Why is she here?
Is she here to taunt me?
I feel my face turn pale.
"Listen Keltie," the bassist (presumably Pete) begins, "I've been thinking and, now that I'm famous and all, I can be doing alot better than you..." he trails off.
Brutal.
"What?" She whimpers.
"You heard," he says, shoving her slightly.
Brendon looks at me, puzzled, until something clicks and he gives me a sympathetic look.
Keltie turns round and sees me. Her eyes fill with surprise, the same surprise I suspect would have been in her eyes when I proposed.
"Ryan..." she breaths.
We stand, staring at eachother. It is as if time stopped.
She makes her way elegantly off the stage, her eyes brimming with tears.
Fuck, is she walking towards me??
"Ryan, I am so sorry for how I treated you."
I am silent. I can't believe this is happening.
"I... maybe we can... make amends?"
Make amends, is she insane? After what she put me through??
Just then, I feel someone slide their arm around my waist.
"Sorry, he's taken," comes Brendon's voice from next to me. Taken? By who?
"By who?" Keltie asks.
Brendon leans over and plants a small kiss on the side of my head. Oh. Oh.
"What? Since when? Ryan?" She looks at me for some sort of reassurance. I give her none. Instead I turn and face Brendon, our lips centimetres apart. I smile and he smiles.
Out of the corner of my eye I see Keltie storm out of the hall. Good riddance.
Brendon lets go of me and our moment is gone. He is still beaming at me.
"I thought I had to intervene, I hope you don't mind."
"Thank you," I sigh, a little shakily.
"Hey, Bren!" Comes a voice from behind us. I turn around, slightly startled.
It's the guitarist. Damn, he was great too- not as much stage presence as Bren, but still an amazing guitar player.
"What's up, Dal?" Asks Brendon.
"Umm, come and help us," he gestures towards the messy stage, which Pete had begun clearing.
"Sure," Brendon replies, "Ry, you wanna give us a hand?"
"No problem."~~~~~
{Yeah i know its a kinda weird place to end it but i thought id leave you all with that ^
Hope ya enjoyed
