I climb up onto the stage and start looking around for things to move. Great. Only now I realise that I have no idea where anything goes.
"Umm Brendon, what should I do with this mic?" I ask, looking stupidly at him.
"Oh here, let me take that," smiles the guitarist, Dallon, taking the mic from me.
"I'm Dallon by the way."
"Hi, I'm Ryan," I say, holding a hand out for him to shake. Shit. He's holding stuff in both hands, Ryan you idiot.
Luckily, he just shakes his head as he smiles and walks away.~~~~~
It doesn't take long for us to clear the stage. Its at least half an hour before I realise that both Gerard and Frank are gone.
"Hey, Brendon, where did Frank and Gee go?" I ask.
"Oh, yeah, they went for drinks. Wanna go join them?"
Without thinking, I immediately say "Yeah."
I can't stop thinking about Brendon's arm around my waist, like it belonged there.
I snap out of it as we make our way out of the venue, Brendon waving goodbye to his bandmates.
We walk along the pavement silently for a while.
"Cold, huh?" Brendon remarks.
"Yeah definately."
"Were... uh... were we really any good?"
"Are you kidding me? You were fucking amazing!"
"Really?"
"Really."
"Thanks," he smiles as his gorgeous brown eyes meet mine.
"So, where are we going?" I ask, looking back at the floor as I walk.
"It's just here," Brendon says, stopping outside 'Butcher's Bar'.
"Is it a butcher's or a bar?" I joke as we enter.
It's a nice place, I'm not gonna lie. Like a neon-punk vibe. I spot Frank and Gerard at the bar, each holding a pint in their hand. They're staring so deeply into eachother's eyes I think their eyes might pop out of their skulls. I roll my own eyes and make my way over to join them.
"Get a room," Brendon smiles, sitting down at the bar. I sit next to him. Close to him.
"Two beers please!" Brendon calls to the bartender, who brings them immediately.
"You're the guy who just performed down the road, right?" He says eagerly.
"Uh, yeah I am," Bren flashes me a slightly surprised glance.
"On the house then!"
Great.~~~~~
I wake up the next morning to two notifications, which is practically a miracle. Its rare for me to get even one.
One of them is a text from Spencer:
come round asap!
And the other is a reminder:
SPENCER'S BIRTHDAY IN 1 WEEK
Cool.
I get dressed and head over to Spencer's.
Somehow, I almost forget that I have to be silent. I think briefly about just giving up on it but decide against it because PERSEVERENCE RYAN!~~~~~
I don't even have to knock before Spencer yanks the door open.
"Thank God you're here, I was just going to go over to your's to check you weren't dead!" He grabs me by the wrist and pulls me into his apartment. We sit on his couch and I can tell that he's ecstatic.
"Guess what?"
We both know that I'm not gonna say 'what'.
"We're going camping!!"
Oh. The last camping trip I went on was with Keltie.
"For my birthday," he explains, "But I don't know who else to invite."
Well its not like I'm going to be any help there, am I? I raise my eyebrows.
"I'm not that stupid, obviously," Spence sighs, retrieving a notepad and pen from his coffee table drawer. Great- communication.
"We need five people to get the discount."
Of course we do.
The list already has two names on it: Spencer, Jon
I add my name, and, without thinking, add Brendon's too.
"Oh great! I didn't think of him! But who else...?"
Eureka! I add Linda to the list.
"Ryan, you little genius!" Grins Spencer, ruffling my hair. I think I might be looking forward to this camping trip after all.~~~~~
{Okay so I am barely motivated to write at all and I dont know why because i really enjoy it once I get into it. Oh well, i guess youll just have to deal with occasional chapters ;)
As always, comment if you liked it, or didnt like it, or have no opinion on it, i just crave attention from strangers on the internet.
