Chapter 11: Bethany

 

Lilly’s POV:

When I returned back to the table they all looked at me hopefully.

I sat down and sipped my Sprite to put them on the rack.

“For heavens sake girl. Speak!” Calum commanded.

I blushed and smiled at my veg burger…or at least what was left of it.

“Oh god. How does she do it?! She’s only been back for a few days now and has a boyfriend already!” Luke said dramatically.

“We’re not together…yet.”

“What’s the meaning of that?” Michael asked pulling up an eyebrow.

“Well. He want’s to start of right so we’re going on a date first.”

“Oh. How romantic! Michael just asked me after the band practise over in the corner of the garage.” Melanie said.

“Did you just criticize my tactic?” Michael asked trying to sound indignant.

She giggled and gave him a peck on the cheek. “I love you hun!” she added.

“I love you more!” he replied.

The other boys rolled their eyes and laughed. All I could think about was Josh, Josh…JOSH!

 

Ashton’s POV:

I woke up next to a warm body. I turned over and saw Bethany lying next to me. Her long hair was falling softly over her shoulders and her chest raising and lowering.

We had a good time together, but somehow I didn’t really enjoy it…I couldn’t quite tell what it was though. I got up and walked over to the shower pulling the green shower curtain aside. I got into the shower and turned on the tap. The cool water running down my body felt good and refreshing and I had to force myself to get out after 10 minutes.

I pulled a white towel around my waist and flicked my hair running my fingers through it. I was just about to brush my teeth when I saw the time.

“Beth?” I turned towards my bed to see her waking up slowly rubbing her eyes.

“What’s up Ash?” she asked tired.

“Shouldn’t you be at school?”

“What time is it?”

“13.30.”

“Oh NO!”

She jumped out of bed, ran past me and got into the shower.

“Shall I drive you?” I asked.

“Yes please!”

 

 

I drove as fast as I could and stopped in front of the huge school. I looked at the brown big building and thought about the days when I used to spend my time in it. Bethany gave me a long and passionate kiss before she hopped out of the car flicking her hair over her shoulder.

“Bye hun!” She said blowing me a kiss.

“See ya at 4.” I said. “And don’t forget to pull down your skirt!”

“Whatever!” she didn’t look back and just kept on walking.

I don’t like her running around with a short skirt. She is pretty enough without showing off so much skin and she had a boyfriend so I don’t know why she tends to wear it so short…

 

Lilly’s POV:

I sat next to Josh in chemistry class and the teacher was explaining something when the door bashed open. In came a blond haired girl with a really short skirt. From the first moment I could tell that I wouldn’t like her. She just had this aura.

She came up to me crinkling her forehead.

“That’s my place!” She said looking down at me with her arms crossed in front of her chest.

I was just about to open my mouth when the teacher came up behind her.

“Bethany. You’re late. I’m waiting for an explanation.”

She turned around with and tried to fake a sad face.

“My grandfather died.” She said and the teacher seemed to believe her.

“Well. I’m sorry for you but that’s no excuse for coming to late. Now take your seat.” He pointed to the back of the classroom where a red headed boy sat.

She gave me an angry look (as if it had been my fault) and walked over to the back throwing her Gucci bag on to the floor.

 

 

“So tonight at 7?”

I nodded and waved at Josh as he turned around.

Then I looked at my watch. I was out early and had to wait 10 minutes until the others would come. I leant against the brick wall and pulled out my phone when suddenly I heard a car honk. I looked up and Ashton leaning out of the window. When he spotted me he waved. I walked up to the car when I got over taken from Bethany who flicked her blonde hair into my face whilst passing my. She waved at him and then got into the car.

“Hey babe!” she said pulling him over to her and kissing him on the lips. Oh great…so SHE was Ashton’s girlfriend. Not that I was jealous or anything but I had imagined him to have a better taste in girls than that.

I was just about to turn around when I heard my name.

“Hey Lilly!”

Ashton waved me towards the car.

“Oh hey Ash.” I said trying to ignore Bethany.

“Need a lift?”

“Umm well I’m actually waiting for the others, but thanks!”

“Oh. Okay.” “Umm…oh. Beth. This is Lilly by the way. Luke’s sister.” He looked over to her whilst pointing at me with his thumb.

“We’ve already met.” She said coolly with her arms crossed in front of her and just looking straight ahead.

“Yes. We’ve got chemistry together.” I added.

“Oh cool. So you guys can get to know each other better.”

I just tried to keep my smile and nodded. I knew that we would never become friends. And I think that was the one and only thought I had in common with her.
