Lilly's POV:
After we had said goodbye to Michael and Calum we headed home. Melanie was coming over to mine to help me get ready for the date like best friends do.
“Why can’t girls ever get ready on their own?” Luke asked.
“Well. A good friend is there to help you look beautiful and of course to give mental comfort.” Melanie replied.
I nodded in agreement.
“Girls! I’ll never understand them!” Luke said shaking his head and pulling out the door key.
When we got into my room the first thing Melanie did was open up my wardrobe. She looked around in it and pulled out a small red dress.
“This will do.” She said holding it up against me.
I went and took a shower whilst Melanie looked through my make-up stack choosing some eye shadow and red lipstick.
When I got out of the shower she helped to blow-dry my hair and then straightened it. My hair is pretty straight naturally, but it looks nicer straightened. Lastly she put on the make-up and then stud back to admire her work.
“Perfect!” she said clapping her hands
I turned around and looked at myself in my floor-length mirror.
“Nice job Mel. Thanks!” I got up and gave her a kiss on the cheek leaving a soft mark of lipstick.
“Anything for you darling!”
Before she left she wished me good luck but then said: “You don’t need good luck. You’re going to get him anyways.” She winked and then left.
Luke came up to my room and let me spin around to get to see me from all sides.
“Looking good!” he complemented me and smiled.
“Thanks.”
“Nervous?”
“A little bit.”
Just then there was a ring at the door. I made sure that my hair was lying nicely before I rushed down the stairs trying not to slip on the tiles.
“Have fun!” Luke shouted from upstairs.
I didn’t answer because all I had in my mind was Josh standing in front of my door. I took another deep breath and then opened it.
“Um hey Ash?” I said making it sound like a question then a statement.
