Lilly’s POV:

I went into the cafeteria at exactly 12.15 and looked around. As always the cafeteria was packed of teenagers. Some were laughing loudly others were concentrating on their books and some were whispering with their heads stuck together looking up every now and then.

The food range wasn’t too big but it was enough and it changed every week. I decided to go for a salad and a veg burger with fries. I grabbed two packages of ketchup and a glass of Sprite.

“Over here Lilly!” I saw Calum waving from the left corner table were we always satt.

I went over to the table and joined Michael, Luke, Melanie and Calum. I put down my heavy caring tray and let myself fall onto the red plastic chair next to Calum.

“How was school so far?” he asked and took a bite of his hot dog.

“Quite good.” I replied and opened my salad sauce.

“I talked to Josh. He was happy to see you.” Luke said. My heart jumped when I heard his name.

“Oh did he?” I tried not to blush too much but Melanie caught me.

“Do you still like him?” she wiggled with her eyebrows.

“Maybe.”

“Then go out with him!”

“No. I can’t be the one to ask. Not after he broke up with me!” I responded.

“He only broke up with you because you were going to England.” Luke commented.

“Really?”

He nodded.

“Why didn’t you tell me?!” Luke could be an awful cool brother but sometimes he couldn’t get the easiest things right…

“I thought you knew?” he said wiping his mouth with the collar of his shirt instead of using a serviette.

“Ah no. Obviously not!”

“Calm down guys!” Michael said.

I spotted Josh not to far away at a table with some girls chatting cheerfully. When he noticed me he smiled. I turned my head away to not let him notice I’ve been looking but a few seconds later he stood next to me.

“Can I talk to you for a sec?” he asked.

Calum nudged me and I nodded and got up almost tipping my glass of Sprite over.

We walked over to a part of the cafeteria where it was quiet.

“Look. I know I broke up with you. But that was just because I wanted you to be free and thoughtless over in England. And I wanted to ask you if you and I still had another chance?”

I looked down to the floor to hide my embarrassment. But then I actually realised what he just said.

“Oh gosh. You don’t have a boyfriend already do you?” I could hear a bit of panic in his voice.

“No. I haven’t had one since you.” I looked at him and smiled. He smiled back at me. His smile was so heart-warming and I could stare at it for 24/7.

“So…Do you want to go on a date with me?” he asked shyly.

“I’d love to.” I replied truly. I would’ve loved to jump up and down and scream of happiness but I tried to stay calm.

“Is tonight okay for you?”

“Sure.” I said nodding.

“Okay. I’ll pick you up at 7pm.”

I nodded once again and he gave me a kiss on the cheek. I couldn’t believe it! I was falling for Josh again. Or had I ever stopped loving him at all?
