You stared at Seungjun laying on the couch, thinking. 'Maybe they just have the same name. Why, when I first met him, did he ask if I could see him? Why does he not have a home? Maybe (b/f) got the wrong name.' Many random thoughts ran through your head. You sighed and ran your hands through your hair. "Whatever," you whispered to yourself, "I can ask him later."
You cleared your thoughts and went back to scrolling through your emails on your laptop. When you found nothing new in your emails, you went and scrolled through your Pinterest feed to see if you found anything you liked.
You scrolled through Pinterest and when you didn't find anything, you closed your laptop and checked the time. 1:47. You decided to go downstairs and get ready to open the shop. When you walked out of your room, you saw that Seungjun was no longer on the couch. You didn't see him anywhere else upstairs, so you thought that he must have gone downstairs.
You then walked downstairs seeing Seungjun sitting at the counter sipping a cup of steaming coffee. "Afternoon Seungjun," you said "I'm glad that you are finally awake."
"Was I asleep for that long?" he asked laughing a little bit.
"I guess you kind of did make me worry a little bit about you," you said, "it looked like you were dead. Well, anyway, I should probably open up shop now. You can stay here if you want or you can head upstairs."
"Or I could help you out," Seungjun suggested.
"Really, you would help me out?" you asked in surprise.
"Of course, I mean, you've done all these things for me, so i think that I should return the favor," he answered.
"Alright, you can help out in the back because there isn't a lot of room up here in the front," you said.
"I understand," he said nodding his head.
"Do you know how to make coffee?" you asked.
"Yeah," he nodded, "I used to own this- a coffee shop too."
"Really?" you asked.
"Yes, it wasn't nearly as popular as yours, but I knew how to make all kinds of coffee," he explained.
"What happened to your old coffee shop?" you asked.
"I-um..." Seungjun paused for a moment as if remembering something. "I went bankrupt, so I had to sell it for money, but even that wasn't enough to get a house down here," he said softly.
"I'm sorry," you said.
"You shouldn't be, you couldn't have done anything to help me," he said. "Shouldn't we open up shop now?" he asked trying to change the subject.
"Oh, right," you said looking at the clock. It was 1:56.
Everything went well with working, Seungjun did a good job working in the back, you barely ever even saw him and just like usual, you closed up at 8:00. When you were walking up the stairs, you realized that no one asked about Seungjun, even if he didn't come out from the back very much, when he did come out, no one even paid a bit of attention to him, which made me wonder about what he really was even more.
As you and Seungjun were walking up the stairs, you decided to ask Seungjun.
"Seungjun, could I ask you a question?" you asked.
"You just did," he answered laughing a little bit.
"No really, can I?" you asked again.
"Of course you can," he nodded, "what do you want to ask me?"
"Well, I was just wondering," you started, "everyone seems to not even take notice of you, and when I first met you, you seemed shock that I noticed you."
"Yeah," he said, "it's just that, I was shocked because I was so used to have people ignore me."
"I see, but it doesn't make sense why no one even bothers to ask me about you or even talk to you," you said.
"I see your point," he said.
"There's one more thing," you started, "the name of the person that committed suicide in the room upstairs, the room you didn't want to go in without even knowing anything about it. His name also just so happened to be Seungjun and also just so happened to run a coffee shop that almost went bankrupt."
Seungjun didn't respond, he just looked at the ground and slowed his walk up the stairs.
"So, now my question that I have," you said, "what are you?"
Seungjun stopped walking and looked at you with a sad face. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier," he said.
"What didn't you tell me earlier?" you asked.
"I'm not...I'm not human," he answered.
"Then what are you?"
"A ghost of Seungjun, the boy that died here. I'm not just the ghost of him, I am him."
"Then how come I can see you?"
"It's because you aren't in love with anyone, yet."
"Yet...?" you whispered to yourself. "Do you know that I will fall in love?" you asked aloud this time.
"Yes, everyone falls in love eventually, I know for a fact. You can't help it, someday, you will leave me and once again, I will be left alone."
