Red Flames (Mako x OC)

CH.1

- What in the world is wrong with you! yelled the girl.

- You mean, what is wrong with you! The firebender shouted back at the beauty. It's the third time this week that I have to bring you back here! The policeman sighed and added calmly, now I'll ask you one more time, why did you attack the old man?

Lucy breathed in deeply and took a real good look at the man standing in front of her. Black hair, amber eyes, brushy furrowed brows, and pinched pinkish full lips. She had to admit, he had a lot of charm.

Confused by the sudden silence of the girl, Mako snapped his fingers to bring her back on earth.

- I know I have beautiful eyes, but I still wait for an answer Miss, said Mako grinning as the brunette violently blushed.

- I already told you! He was the one attacking me, I only defended myself.

They just stood there, nobody spoke.

POV: LUCY  

 Suddenly, somebody violently yanked the door open, Lin Beifong, her gaze met mine, and I knew, I was in deep trouble. Even the man took a step backward.

- Are you kidding me? She asked loudly. It only took you one week, one week!

- I can explain Lin... 

- Oh no you can't young lady, she cut me off, and you know why? She added.

- No why? I asked by grumbling.

- Because you'll be heading for Zaofu at the crack of dawn.

- Oh no no no, you can't do that to your favorite niece Lin think again, even you don't want to live there. Please have pity. I first came here to properly learn firebending and I promise mama.

My aunt looked away, thinking. I got her, I knew it, now it's just a matter of time.

  - Fine, you'll stay but only for the bending.  

- Oh, thank you, auntie, I promise you won't regret this! I shouted as I hugged her and kissed her on both cheeks.

- But if you're here to learn to bend, then, who's your teacher? Asked Mako.

I turned around, is he making fun of me? no, he looks serious.

- Waru, you probably don't know him, he's not really famous, he said he only teach to the best.

Mako started to laugh really loud like it was the funniest thing ever.

- You mean.. Waru, the guy on the main street, oh my god you're the best, he said wiping tears from his eyes then he added, Waru isn't even a firebender he is a pickpocket.

I started to blush, ashame of my naivety and irritated by that punk who doesn't stop making a fool out of me.

- I didn't know that, I'm new here! But if monsieur (mister in french)  is so smart, and that I doubt, how now can I learn to bend?

- Hey, take it easy it is not my fault if you're stupid, Mako said frustrated.

- Me stupid, if your intellect is so upper as you claim it, then do you know some firebender who can teach my low intellect?

I took a step towards him.

- Oh, it's your lucky day my lady, because you got one right in front of you. He said as he reproduced my gesture.

- And you really think he can handle it? I took another step.

- Oh yes, he can. 

one step closer.

- Is he good?

one more step, we were so close that I could feel his breath on my cheeks.

- He is a pro.

- Then fine. I responded

- fine. He repeated after me.

- fine. I said as I walked to the door of the police station.

- Don't be late, five AM at the training room of the Arena.

I walked through the door without even saying goodbye to Lin.
