I awkwardly stay in the corner of the room starring at everybody chatting, laughing and dancing with not a worry in the world and me envying them. Yes, I know an introvert with a fierce temper what a bad mix, but hey you can't change who you are. my thoughts drift to the boys once again, hoping they would show up to get me out of this hell hole. But, unfortunately, I don't think they will because, for some reasons, Mako seems uneasy with me being around always having ''a report to finish'' or somewhere to run to...
- Hello, there doll face, a male voice said.
Oh please tell me it is not happening. The guy in question shows up with a big flirty smile on his face while I erase all kind of expression on mine. He was from the water tribe judging by his clothes and the only other thing I noticed aside from that was the scar through his right eyebrow, how weird.
- Did you just listen to anything I said? he asks suspiciously.
- Oh sorry, must be the liquor getting to my head, in fact, I think I will head outside, was good meeting you, I said in one breathe practically running through the door.
I look back the see if the guy was following me but he was just standing there dumbfounded. Soon enough for not watching in front of me, I bump into someone and quickly apology before heading outside of the house, but a hand grabs my wrist before I could make another step.
- Lucy? asks the last voice I want to hear at this moment.
- Oh, hi Mako I barely recognized you right there, I chuckle glancing once in a while at the flirty guy across the room to make sure he stays right where he is.
- Yeah, me too, this dress it's so... so... he looks at me from head to toes before he adds, not you... not that it doesn't suit you, but- I mean. ''And here comes trouble'' I thought as I saw the annoying one walking towards us.
- Hey man, I know it's not my place but it doesn't look like the girl really want your company, said the scarred guy.
Mako blinked twice, then looked at me and back to the other guy.
- Oh okay, sorry for interrupting, the firebender said with a cold glare before heading towards the opposite side of the room to great Lin.
God I wish I had the guts to stand up for myself, but I could act up here in front of the council and everyone, not today because it was too big of a day and I could put up with one annoying guy for the rest of the night if it means I can get to talk to Zuko. And so I let him talk and talk and talk all night long without seeing once the councilman.
- Do you want another drink doll face? he asks again and this time I gave up nodding in agreement.
he gets up and disappears to another room and my eyes found Mako laughing with a beautiful earth-bender. He is charming tonight I have to admit it, his traditional black outfit with the red fioritures at the end of his sleeves fits him really well and I can't take my eyes off of him. Suddenly, a glass of champagne appeared in front of me. The guy named Kai gave it to me and then sat right beside me on the couch before passing his arm around my shoulder and tracing little circles on my left arm. It made me so uncomfortable that I felt like I could move and I start to panic.
- Please, sir-I mean-Kai, could you get off of me I'm really uncomfortable at the moment, I stutter anxiously.
- You sure angel, because I am, he replies whispering in my right ear.
- Okay, that's enough, I said before drinking the whole glass of liquor and added, thank you for the drink but I really need to go outside so if you please excuse me, and finally heading to the balcony.
