Down in the forest of the kingdom, there was a shed, a lonely blind man lived in that shed, The Host, as he's normally called by people who know him now. Host sighed and sat at his desk as normal, snacking on something small, there was then a tap at his window, he tilted his head to the sound and listened for it again, this time there was three taps, he smiled softly and stood up, walking to the window he opened it and a little brown barn owl walked in, it tilted its head up at him and hooted softly, "What did you bring me?" Host asked and the owl turned its head around and dug into its wing pulling out a piece of paper, Host took it and carefully ran his hand down the front of it, he frowned slightly "Why, and how?" he turned away from the window, walking to his desk he sat down the paper, "Why would I be invited to something like that? Not a lot of people know of me anymore," he sat down and sighed. The owl flew over and sat on his desk, it fluttered its wings slightly and squinted at Host, Host looked at the owl and shook his head, "I'm not going to something like that, I don't really have anything to wear," he said, the owl hooted and flew over to his trench coat, it sat on it slightly and hooted, "I know I could wear that, but it's not really the fancy type," Host said, the owl hooted and flew over to him, sitting back on the desk, "I don't care if people from all over the village are going, plus that's to many people," the owl squinted and flapped its wings, pushing the paper to Host, "I'm not making excuses," he said crossing his arms, the owl hooted angrily, "Don't give me that tone," Host frowned, he then sat there and thought for a moment, he sighed, "I suppose you are right about one thing, I've been cooped up in this shed for the longest time," the owl nodded, Host groaned slightly and sighed, "Fine, I'll go," he said, the owl closed its eyes and stood proudly, Host chuckled and pet it softly on the head, then grabbed his piece of bread and pulled a small piece off, holding it out to the owl, the owl hooted happily and ate it, "You sure do know how to get under my feathers huh," Host said with a softly smile, the owl hooted in response with a tone of joy.
