Project Device (NoahXKevin) (TT)

     Noah laid in his bed on a Friday night, tossing and turning and mumbling in his sleep, he was having another one of his night terrors he's been having for a few weeks, ones about shadows and eyes that followed him, hearing voices and seeing things that weren't really there. Noah eventually shot up in a cold sweat, his eyes wide in fear, he sat panting frantically looking around his room to make sure he was really in his room, he looked over at the clock and saw it was nearly six in the morning, he groaned and held his head, "It was just a dream, it always is," he murmured to himself. He pulled the blankets off and dragged himself off the bed, he stretched as he walked over to the curtains and pulled them open slightly seeing the sun just slowly rising over the horizon, he squinted and rubbed his eyes, "Alright Noah, it's Saturday morning now, I could go back to sleep," he said to himself and looked back over to his bed, he frowned and shook his head thinking of his night terror, "No, never mind, might as well start my day," he said as made his way to the bathroom. Later that day he was sitting in his kitchen eating lunch, he looked over at his phone as it started to ring, it was Kevin, he reached over and swallowed the food in his mouth and answered it, "Hello?" he asked, "Hey Noah!" Kevin spoke happily, "Oh, hey Kev, what's up?" Noah said with a soft smile on his face, "I just wanted to call you and see if you were still up for the school project you needed help with," Kevin said, "Oh that?" Noah sat for a second and then it hit him, "Oh shit! That, right, I'm not late am I?" Noah asked, "Nope, but you will be, it's nearly one," Kevin said with a chuckle, "Shit, okay, fuck, I'll be there soon okay?" Noah said, Kevin sighed slightly with another chuckle, "Noah relax, it's not like you're missing an important date," Noah sighed in distress, "Yeah, I know but-" he began but Kevin cut him off, "Don't worry, just as long as you get here, that's all that matters," Noah shook his head, "Alright, I'll be there soon," he said, "Alright, see you soon!" Kevin said and hung up, Noah slurped up the rest of his food and quickly sat up after swallowing it. Kevin sat in his living room waiting for Noah to arrive at the door, he looked at his watch and shook his head and smiled slightly, he looked up a saw a car pull up in front of his drive way, he saw Noah get out and walk to the trunk of his car, Kevin quickly stood up and rushed to the door and opened it, "Noah!" he called out, Noah jumped and looked over at Kevin, he smiled and waved over at him, "Need any help?" Kevin asked, Noah chuckled, "That would be nice," he said and Kevin came running over to him, Noah handed him a box and a few other things and they both carried the stuff inside. After placing all the stuff down on the dinning room table, Kevin looked over at Noah who was rubbing his face, "Is everything alright?" he asked, Noah nodded and sighed softly, "Yeah, just a bit tired, had some trouble sleeping last night," he said, Kevin frowned, "I'm sorry, would you like some coffee?" he asked, Noah nodded slightly and Kevin nodded as he walked away, "So would you mind remind me exactly what the project is?" he said from the kitchen, Noah started to unpack the things from the box onto the table, "Oh, my science class decided to have a voting thing for a project," Noah started, "The entire class, except a few, chose to build a device of some kind, now I'm no good with putting things together, so you were the first person who came into my mind," Kevin walked back in to the dinning room and smiled as he handed Noah his coffee, "I'm glad I was the first person you thought of!" he said, Noah looked at him and saw Kevin smiling lovingly, he blushed a little and looked away, "Yeah, well who else would I go too? My parents? They don't know shit," he said, Kevin chuckled and looked at the things on the table, "So what exactly are you wanting to build?" Noah sat down the cup of coffee which was now half empty and shook his head, "I have no fucking idea," he said, "Some sort of spyware device, like a listing device?" Kevin glanced around a few times at the things on the table, "I think I could help you with that," he said as he adjusted his glasses, "Well, I'm gonna need to dig out my welding tools and other things, I'll be right back," he said and stood up and walked towards his room. Noah sat down at the table and sighed, he grabbed his coffee again and started to chug it down to try and fight off the sleep, "God I wish I slept a little more," he mumbled to himself, he then heard a loud crash that made him jump a little, he lifted his head up to where the sound came from, "Kevin?" he called out, "Is everything alright?" there was no answer, Noah stood up and made his way to the hallway that lead to Kevin's room, "Kevin?" he called out once again, still no response, he frowned and furrowed his eyebrows, he began to walk down the hallway towards Kevin's door, as he walked down he passed a mirror to which he caught a glimpse of something black, he froze in place and faced the mirror and saw his own reflection but it wasn't him, his eyes were black with tiny white pupils, he had burn scars all over his face and neck, Noah's eyes widen as the being in the mirror put its finger up to its lips and made a small shushing noise, Noah backed up into the wall behind him and he then heard another loud crash from behind Kevin's door, the being in the mirror then quickly turned its head towards to where Kevin's door is and frowned, the being then went black and Noah covered his mouth, it was the shadow he saw from his night terror, "No, it can't be," he muttered, "It's my fucking dream all over again," there was another loud crash, Noah clinched his hands into fist and pushed himself off the wall, he turned towards Kevin's door and frowned angrily, "Don't worry Kevin, I won't let whatever is in there hurt you," he spoke and marched to Kevin's door. Just then Kevin swung the door open and looked down at Noah as Noah jumped back and looked up at him in fear, "Noah? Are you okay? You look like you've seen a ghost," Kevin said with a bit of concern in his voice, Noah then stood up straight and cleared his throat, "Y-Yeah, I'm okay, I just, I was worried, there was a lot of loud bangs coming from your room and I got worried," he Noah sputtered, Kevin chuckled slightly, "Yeah sorry, I dropped a lot of things that were in my closet," he said, "No worries though, everything's fine!" Noah rubbed his face and sighed, "Noah, if you need a nap or something you can sleep on my couch while I work," Kevin said, Noah shook his head, "No, I'm fine, I just need to splash my face with water or something," he said, Kevin sighed slightly, "Alright, well the bathroom is right over there," he said and pointed to the door behind Noah, Noah nodded, "Okay, I'll be in there in a few seconds," he said, Kevin nodded as he walked back to the dinning room, Noah quickly made his way to the bathroom and flipped on the light, he shut the door behind him and turned on the sink and began to run his hands under the cold water, he cupped his hands to fill them up slightly and splashed himself in the face a few times, once he stopped he looked into the mirror and sighed, "What was all that about? What the hell did I see?" he asked himself, "Am I dreaming?" he asked with a groan, "I probably shouldn't make Kevin wait so long," he turned off the water and opened the door, he turned off the light and quickly made his way back to the dinning room, he saw Kevin already welding some things together. Noah walked over and sat back down in his chair, he looked at Kevin as he welded a fan into place, Kevin looked up at Noah and smiled softly, "Are you okay? You took awhile in there," he asked, Noah nodded, "Yeah, the sleep is just getting to me, I hadn't got much sleep last night due to a night terror," he said, Kevin stopped for a second and frowned, "A night terror? Again? Aren't you taking your medication like I told you too?" Noah looked down and shook his head slowly, "Why not?" Kevin asked, Noah shrugged, "I just forgot last night, the sleeping pills don't really help that much anyway," he said, Kevin sighed and set down the welding tool, "Are you sure you don't want to take a nap or something? I can work while you sleep," he said, Noah shook his head aggressively "It's fine Kevin," he said, Kevin looked down and frowned. Noah watched as Kevin showed him some things and told him what they did and how they worked, "So, when it's turned on, via the battery on the side, it'll start beeping and that means that it's on and it's recording," he explained, "Okay, what's the solar panel for?" Noah asked lifting up a small solar panel that was wired to the device, "Oh, that charges the battery, see you could hide it some where in a place with sun light and during the day it'll charge the battery, the fan on the bottom is what will keep it from over heating," Kevin said, Noah nodded and yawned slightly, Kevin looked at him slightly and frowned, "How about this," he started, "I'll test run this tomorrow to see if it works, it's not pretty but I'm sure it'll at least boost your grade up to an A, maybe a B at least," Noah nodded slightly, "When is the project due again?" Kevin asked, "It's due this Monday," Noah said sounding as if he was falling asleep, Kevin chuckled, "Okay, so that gives me all day tomorrow to test it out and fix any mistakes I may have made, so I'll set it aside for now and order us some Chinese, sound good?" Noah smiled slightly and nodded once again. Kevin stood up and put the device in a box and put it on a side table, he gently lifted up Noah from the chair and carefully dragged him over to the couch, he laid him down and adjusted him slightly, "Just rest for now okay Noah?" he said with a soft loving tone, "But, I-" Noah went to speak but Kevin cut him off by throwing a blanket over him, "I'll wake you up when the food gets here okay?" Kevin said, Noah sighed and curled up to the back of the couch getting comfortable, to which he fell asleep. Awhile after Kevin gently started to shake Noah, "Food's here Noah," he said, Noah shook his head and made a noise in protest, not wanting to wake up, Kevin chuckled and shook his head, "Okay, I'll just put it away for now, we can eat later," Kevin said and walked off, once Kevin returned he saw Noah was sitting up and looking directly at him, Kevin titled his head and walked over, "What's the matter Noah?" he asked as he sat next to him, Noah then adjusted himself and without thinking, he laid his head onto Kevin's lap and fell right back to sleep, Kevin blushed but smiled happily, he adjusted himself slightly so he could somewhat lay down and cuddle Noah, he ran his fingers through his hair and Noah nuzzled his face into Kevin's chest slightly, Kevin took off his glasses and put them on the coffee table in front of the couch and held Noah closer and closed his eyes, within a few seconds Kevin fell asleep as well, smiling happily to himself as he held Noah close to him.
