It was a normal boring morning, Prince Matt sat on his throne leaning his head on his hand, servants would walk up and ask him if he wanted anything and he'd just shake his head and wave them away. Prince Matt sat up and sighed, "What's the matter your Majesty? You seem less active today," one of his waiters asked, Matt shook his head, "I don't know, it's just so boring," he spoke, "Would you like take a stroll through the garden?" the waiter asked and Matt shook his head again, "No I already did that today," Matt said and looked over to a large mirror on the wall, he stood up and walked over to the mirror and checked himself out, "How could someone as gorgeous as I, someone who has almost everything in the world! Be so bored?" he asked aloud, he took off his crown and looked at it, "What is it all for if it's not fun?" the waiters and waitresses looked at each other confused, "Prince Matt, is everything alright? You really don't seem like yourself," one of the waitresses said, Matt looked at her and sighed, "M'Lady, it's just so, lonesome! Boring! Just being here with nothing to do, once you've done everything!" "How about a ball?" another waitress said, "You could invite the entire village, poor and rich!" Matt smiled and looked at her, "That would be amazing!" he said, "We'll throw a ball and I'll go out and send the invites!" "I don't think that will be possible," one of the planners said, "What? Why not?" Matt asked as he turned his head to them, "Prince Matt, with all due respect, we need you here in the castle and what would we do if something happened to you?" the planner said, Matt frowned and looked down, a waitress came over and grabbed the crown from Matt's hands and lifted his head, "Prince Matt, that sounds like a wonderful idea, I can take you around the village with a few other messengers," she said, Matt smiled once again, "Splendid!" he said, the planner frowned and a waiter looked at him, "Don't worry, the messengers will make sure he's safe, if he wants to be free from these castle walls for once, let him!" he said, the planner sighed and shook his head, "Very well," the other waiters and waitresses cheered with joy. The waitress led Prince Matt back up to his room, "Alright, you royal beauty, lets get you dressed to go out and send the invites," she said as she walked over to a closet, Matt sat down on a chair, "What is your name by the way?" he asked, "I don't think I've seen you before," "Oh, I'm one of the newer waitresses, my name is Vanessa!" she said as she pulled out a royal outfit and faced him, "What about this one?" Matt shook his head, "Vanessa, I would like to actually dress up as one of the villagers!" he said and stood up, "I want to blend in and possibly make some friends while I'm out," Vanessa frowned slightly then smiled once again, "Alright, we'll keep it a secret between us, I have an old outfit that is very villager like, you'll blend in very well," she said and placed the outfit back into the closet, "I have to go get it of course, so just stay here and I'll be right back," Vanessa quickly made her way out of the room and closed the door, Matt smiled and walked out onto his balcony and leaned on the rail, "One day, I'll find my true love and hopefully, it'll be today!" he said. Awhile later Vanessa dressed Matt up in a villager outfit and messed his hair up a bit, "There, you look just like a middle payed villager!" she said, Matt looked at himself in a large mirror and smiled brightly, "Lady Vanessa! You outdid yourself!" Vanessa smiled with joy, "Glad I could help! Now, lets go meet up with the messengers and go out!" she said, Matt nodded and followed her outside, they quickly hopped into a carriage before anyone saw Matt, Vanessa leaned out the door and saw everyone waving, "Don't worry, I'll keep him safe!" she said and shut the door, Matt smiled and looked out the window, "This is so exciting! I've never done this before!" he said and looked at Vanessa, "Thank you for giving me this chance!" Vanessa smiled and nodded, "Of course Prince Matt, or should I say, Matt," she said, Matt chuckled with excitement and the carriage started to move out the castle walls. Hours has passed and the sun was nearly down, they only had one house left of the poor part of the kingdom, Matt walked down the brick road and came upon a small little shack, he knocked on the door cheerfully awaiting for someone to open the door, but there was no one there, he frowned, "Vanessa, no one seems to be here," he said, Vanessa walked up to the shack and saw there was no one inside, "Perhaps they're not home right now, we can just leave the note in the box here, they'll get it later I'm sure," she said, Matt nodded and put the note in the box, "Well, this was the last house we needed to hit," Vanessa said, "Aww," Matt said sadly, "I don't want the day to end I've had so much fun!" he said, Vanessa chuckled, "I know, but we need to head back now," she said, Matt sighed and looked down, he didn't want to leave but he reluctantly followed behind Vanessa, as he was walking he didn't see the person in front of him and he bumped into him and they both fell over, "Matt!" Vanessa said and rushed over to help him but he stood up on his own and looked down at the person he accidentally made fall over, he held out his hand and the person looked up at him, his brown eyes met with Matt's blue eyes and the gaze locked, "Are you okay?" Matt asked, the person hesitated and reached out for Matt's hand and took it, Matt lifted the person up while they kept eye contact, "Y-Yeah, I'm okay," the person said quietly, Matt smiled softly, there was a warm fuzzy feeling in his chest, "My name's Matt, what's yours?" he asked, the person smiled back, "My name's Edd, it's nice to meet you Matt," "Edd, what a gorgeous name," Matt said, Edd blushed slightly and chuckled, "Thanks," he said and Matt nodded, Vanessa smiled and chuckled, "Matt, we need to get going," she said, Matt shook his head, "Oh, right, sorry," he said and looked back at Edd, "I hope too see you again soon," he said, Edd nodded and waved slightly as Matt walk away with Vanessa. A week had passed and the ball was ready, the entire castle was decorated for the event, Matt walked onto his balcony and watched as people poured into the castle walls, "This was the best decision ever," he spoke aloud, Vanessa walked over to him and smiled, "I hope you're happy now, the entire village is here, you're not going to be bored and alone anymore!" she said, Matt chuckled and looked at her, "All thanks to you Lady Vanessa," he said and Vanessa bowed, Matt then looked back over the sea of people and sighed dreamily, "What's the matter?" Vanessa asked, "This entire week we've been preparing this event, I couldn't get my mind off of that person I bumped into, Edd, I think his name was," Matt said, "I hope I see him, that will make my night the greatest," Vanessa chuckled and then there was a call from the back, "Your Majesty, everyone is inside, please come down and speak for them all," the person said, Matt nodded, "Coming!" he said, "Well, my people are expecting me," he walked past Vanessa out to the hall, "Good luck, Prince Matt!" she called out, Matt nodded and made his way to the ball room, he stood up on the balcony and looked down at the crowd of people, his eyes scanning for his love, unfortunately he could see him from up here, Matt looked over at a trumpet boy who walked over to him, "Whenever you're ready sire," he said, "Play it now," Matt said with a smile, the trumpet boy then started to play and it rang through the ball room, everyone looked up at the balcony where Matt stood and the room went silent, "Everyone, may I please have your attention!" he said aloud, "Thank you," he looked at the trumpet boy who nodded and scampered away with joy, Matt then looked back down at the people, "Thank you for coming to this ball! I am very pleased you all could make it, this definitely livens up the castle a whole lot!" he spoke, "Please enjoy your night! Food and music all night and most of all, have fun!" everyone cheered and went back to chatting and enjoying their time. Matt made his way down to his throne and stood in front of it, he watched as people danced to the music together and eat food, he sighed and looked around, "Still no sign of him," he said to himself sadly, "I hope he came," a waiter then came over with a tray with a plate of food and a drink, Matt took it and smiled, "Hey, could you keep an eye out for a small looking man with brown hair and brown eyes? His name is Edd, I would really like to see him," he said, the waiter nodded and walked away, Matt then sat down and began to enjoy his meal, then he thought he saw Edd walk down a hallway out of the corner of his eye, he put the plate on a table next to his throne and stood up and quickly rushed after him. Edd looked around at the pictures along the walls, he was lost and confused as to where he was, "Edd?" he heard a familiar voice call out from behind him, he turned around and saw Prince Matt, "Oh! Prince Matt, I'm sorry, I was lost, wait, how do you know my name?" Edd asked, Matt chuckled slightly, "We didn't have much time to talk last time," he said, "I'm Matt, the villager you met about a week ago," Edd's eyes widen, "Wait what?" he said shocked, he was speechless, Matt then walked closer and held out his hand, "Care to dance?" he asked, even though he was confused, he couldn't help but feel a strong connection towards Matt, he hesitated for a second and then took his hand, "I'd love too," he said, Matt smiled and let him back out the ball room. The two danced the night away, laughing and talking, getting to know each other better, people watched in awe, some jealous and some proud, Vanessa and the other waitresses and waiters clapped with joy as their prince had finally found the one for him, Matt then led Edd up to his room and onto the balcony, they looked over the lit up village below just down the hill, "Wow, what a view, you get to see this every night?" Edd asked looking at Matt, Matt nodded and smiled, "Indeed I do, it's a gorgeous view isn't it?" he said, "I've always enjoyed being a prince, but it's gotten quite boring over the last year," Edd frowned and tilted his head, "How so?" he asked and Matt sighed, "It's just so lonesome, I want someone with me," he said and placed his hands on the railing, "Someone with me to enjoy this life," Edd scooted closer and laid his hand over Matt's, "I know how you feel, it's boring and sad without someone in your life," he said, Matt looked at him and they locked eye contact again, their hearts grew warm and fuzzy nearly in sink, Matt didn't know if it was the view or the music, but he felt in love and leaned in too kiss Edd, Edd was shocked but he kissed back softly, they wrapped their arms around each other and kissed passionately. What felt like hours was only 20 minutes and they both pulled away panting slightly, "M-Matt," Edd said in between breaths, Matt smiled softly and leaned his forehead against Edd's, "Edd, I know we basically just met, but I know that this feeling isn't a lie," he said, Edd nodded and gripped onto the back of Matt's shirt, "I feel the same," he said, Matt smiled and pulled him closer, Edd kissed him softly, "I love you Matt," he said, "I love you too, Edd," Matt said and kissed back deeply.
