"No!" The words left fast, like lightning striking in the hearts of its victims that it was aimed towards. Loki and Ella.

Ella's fathers face was dead serious. He had gotten home only minutes ago and he already had his answer.

After a long while of silence, Loki looks at her father and stands up. His face is sullen. "If....." he stops to take a breath. "If that's what you wish sir, I will respect your answer," He says it quickly, his voice shaky.

Ella let's out a choked sob. "Dad, please no! He's family! He's the only other family that isn't busy! And he actually spends time with me! I know we are struggling, but you don't have to worry about me this much!" She argues her voice rising, tears threaten her eyes.

Loki looks at her shaking his head.

"We care about you! But we are trying to keep ourselves out of the streets!" He yells back his voice seems to shake the room. "I want to be with you! To spend more time with you!"

She scoffs. "Not like this is going to help our relationship grow any, will it," She hisses turning on her heels and walking down the hall and into her room. She slams the door behind her.

Ella's father glares at Loki.

"Sir, believe me, she will forgive you one day?" Its a straight up lie. He knows her father isn't doing any good by doing this. But he doesn't argue. His father wasn't much of an exception.
"May, I say bye?" Loki asks, his voice quiet. He looks into her fathers hardened face. "Please. Let me do it for her,"

His face softens a tiny bit. "Five minutes, no more." He says, still keeping a strictness to it.

Loki nods, walking past him, keeping his head down as he walks down the carpeted halls that have only ever been described to him. He stops short looking at a picture of Ella as a young girl. She was 7, he remembered her as a child.

He keeps walking, eventually reaching the door she slammed shut. Her sobs are muffled by the door. Loki knocks.

"Ella dear, please open the door. I have only five minutes with you,"

Theres a sniffle, the sound of the lock, and then door opened to reveal tear faced crying Ella. She takes a step forward and leans her head against his chest sniffing.

"I don't want to never see you again." She whimpers.

Loki pulls her into his chest stroking her hair and whispering softly to her. "Hush now, be quiet," He whispers.

"I don't want you to leave me!" She presses.

"Ella listen to me," he says, pulling her back at arms length. He digs into his pocket pulling out the box he had earlier, he opens it to reveal a lovely gem necklace, with a pure gold chain. He twirls his hands and a green kind of sparkle settles on it. "This has the ability to contact me twice. I will come if you say 'this is the the time I need you most'. But only use it in your time of need." He says taking the necklace from the box and gently clipping it on around her neck.

Ella touches it gently as if it will disappear. "Why only twice?"

"My magic is limited." He says simply.

Tears fill her eyes again and she throws herself at him. "Please don't leave."

He hugs her back, "Oh, so emotional," he chuckles. "But dear, I have to show your parents that I'm a man who can be trusted. And I have to do it by doing this." Loki explains gently.

She sniffles louder in response.

"Don't let this make you push your parents away, they love you I'm sure. Sometimes they mess up at showing that. But you mustn't push them away. You wouldn't want to be alone."

There's a knowing in his voice and thats what convinced Ella the most. "I'm sorry, I'm being so emotional."

He tightens his hug. "You have every right to be."

Ella sniffles and hugs tighter.

"Times up." Ella's fathers voice interrupts their moment and Loki quickly with draws from the hug immediately walking past her father who stands at the door without a word.

Ella follows after him. "Wait Loki! Please!!! Please don't go!" She cries as she runs after him.

Loki walks into the night air, entering the yard and stops in the middle. Ella rushes after, tears steadily falling down her face.

Loki puts a hand up. "N...no. Please stay." His voice crumbles. "You'll only make this worse."

"How can this get any worse!" Ella cries falling to her knees a couple feet from him.

Loki turns to her. She can see the tears forming in his eyes. "You are like a daughter to me, and I love you deeply. Please grow up and move on." He says, as a tear steadily slides down his face. He turns his back to her, and he's nothing but a blob from the tears that block her vision. Sobs rack her body as a light shines in front of her engulfing Loki in it, as he suddenly slips out of her hold.
