The lovely sound of ducks quacking awake me. My alarm.

I always wake up before the bugle so I can make breakfast for everyone.

I check to see what time it is... 5:00.

I've got two hours to get everything done. Great.

I grab a raincoat, and run out to the kitchen in the pouring rain, only to find the kitchen a mess. Jamie must've forgotten to clean. Kids.... Wiping up the scattered tater tot bits, I realize how this is like a metaphor to my life. The whole time, I've always left a mess behind, things left undone, messes left unclean, promises left broken. I threw all the progress I made in life away for something I thought was better. A promising future, or so I thought. It wasn't worth shit compared to what I had. It didn't change anything. I didn't gain anything except for a piece of paper stating information that I already knew I was capable. It was pathetic, really. So here I am, washing away the bits of frozen potatoes, and picking up the piece of my life. But like a mirror, I can try to put them back, but the ridges and cracks will never be covered.

"You look like you need some help," I hear a voice say from behind me.

"Chill your tots, Ali... It's only me." She laughs, quoting from what I said the first day.

"Shut up, you were the one who quoted Tangled for weapon advice."

"HEY!" A pain look plastered onto her face.

"Eli, what do you want.... Seriously?"

Her eyes soften, and she eases up. "I seriously came to ask if you needed help, because you're my best friend.... And, you were my night in shining armor last night." She grabs me by the waist playfully.

"Now, let's get those eggs scrambling."

Sitting at the staff table is nice today, especially watching team SuckTheirFacesOff display WHY that's their team name.

"Excuse me," I growl, moving myself away from the others.

Going into the kitchen, I head straight to the pantry, and the tears I've been holding in finally burst out.

"I knew it was bullshit that you were okay,"

Maxine says from the pantry opening, and sits down next to me.

"Now, I'm gonna give you one more fucking chance to tell me what-"

I start sobbing. It used to be two or three tears, but now it's like Yosemite up in here.

"I'm sorry, Ali...."

She brushes the hair out of my face, as I ramble my story to her.

"I'm sorry, but I can't hear a fucking word that you've said. You mumbled." I inhale and exhale, to slow down my heart rate, and try to end the stress my heart must be having.

"Well....?" She says, after a long silence.

"I love her."

Just a friendly warning....

I will be unable (literally unable) to use my phone from June 15th to July 14th, so in that time frame, I will be (technically) inactive. But NOT forever! I am telling you this in advance so no one will freak the frick out and ask if I'm dead.

Just a warning.

Okay, byeeeee!
