[dance?]
-chapter ten

+

i walked up to the overly-excited alya, raising an eyebrow suspiciously. "as you may've guessed nino already asked me to the dance...so are you going?" she squealed hopefully, positively exploding from curiosity.

i sighed deeply "erm no, nobody asked me yet and i actually don't want to go." i lied much too obviously. alya gave me an extremely sceptical look before bursting out laughing. "sure you don't," she began
"yeah right, marinette dupain-cheng missing a dance..puhleaseee." she said rolling her eyes "as if."
"fine, you got me, i do want to go but there's still 4 days so...." i began
"so hurry up!" she insisted, waving her arms around and walked away

this girl.

i went back inside to the office where I had stashed away some dress designs. just in case you know? who knows when you'll need some, besides its sort of a hobby now. maybe even a profession someday. i already cut some patterns back home after i made designs for a few dresses, and decided on a pretty blue gown. now i was wondering, rather disheartenedly, whether id even need a dress.

i kept them at the back of the drawer where nobody would find them....not now. i looked over all of my designs, and concluded that the disgn that i chose really was the best choice. not that i could make a different decision because i already bought the fabric needed for the dress I chose. it was perfect... now i just need a date.

oh boy...that'll not be as easy as it sounds. suddenly there was a knock on the door, i peered through the blinds to see jeremy poking his head through and wearing an awkward sort of smile. he waved at me shyly when he saw me through the glass.

i waved and opened the door. "hi, what brings you here?" i asked, closing my door behind me.
"oh, i guess i wanted to see you" he smiled "by the way- " he began
"oh sorry come in" I interrupted, realising we were still standing on the front porch "sorry what were you saying?"
he raised an eyebrow thoughtfully. "who do you share this cabin with?" he asked looking at the laundry rack with adriens clothes on it.

"oh, adrien- you know the guy you met on the boat" I blabbed in about 0.5 seconds, talking far too quickly.

"oh," he sighed, then, for some reason he took my hand into his and held it. "anyway whay i came here because...i'll understand if not-i mean you shouldn't feel like you have to but...will uh- you go to the dance with me..?" he muttered- yet loud enough for me to hear.

i laughed, taking my hand back and scratching my head, a little confused. "sure, as friends" i said holding my hand out for a high-five. he raised his hand weakly. "yeah... as friends" he whispered to himself- almost reluctantly "friends..."
