The second I see you
Time stops
As if it freezes
I close my eyes
And breathe trying to relax
But I couldn't
My heart pounds off my chest
My bones feel shattered
My legs are riveted to the ground
I look away
And the sound of your voice across the room
It's too thundering to not hear
From the soothing words that you speak
To the honeyed tone you say them in
My feelings I couldn't contain
I try to block my ears from hearing you
But the sense of your presence
It refreshes my mind
Revives my soul
And enlightens my heart
I run away from it all
I don't look behind me
As I for sure know that once
Your hands touch my fragile heart,
it will shatter
