Cinderkit was sleeping next to her mum, Flamewing, and trying to sleep. To forget what her brother had said, his words still echoed in her mind. Why do you bother with her... I'm much better... Why do you bother with her... I'm much better... "Are you OK?" Flamewing mewed, watching her kit huddle next to her, "I'm sure Gingerkit didn't mean it..."
"He did... I know he did..." Mewed Cinderkit, sadly.
"Oh, sweetie... I'm sure he didn't..." Replied her mum.
"He did... If he didn't, then why would he say it?" She asked, even sadder.
"You know your brother... I'm sure he didn't mean it..." Flamewing replied.
"But he did.." She mewed softly.
"All cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather beneath the high-rock for a clan meeting. Today three cats, Flameflight, Oakwing and Acornpaw, have found signs of ShadowClan in our territory!" Meowed Dawnstar, he voice echoing across camp. There were gasps and hisses from many of the cats.
"What will we do?" Hissed Bluestream, "We have to fight back! I bet they took lodes of our prey; scaring off the rest!" Many more hissed in agreement. Cinderkit hardly noticed, she had fallen asleep.
Cinderkit walked through the forest, when she came into a clearing, a cat appeared out of thin-air, "Hello, Cinderkit! Do you know who I am?" Asked the dark tabby tom.
"Y-Your Darkwhisper!" Replied Cinderkit, the elders had told her about him. He had been the medicine cat before Leafstorm.
"Yes, and I have something to tell you," Mewed Darkwhisper, "Two of the cats you trust the most will betray you. The one you hate most of all will prove his worth and save the clan from the darkness one brings. The others only hope will soon be gone. If they are not saved, the forest will be destroyed and all hope will be lost. Forever."
"B-But why did you tell me?" asked Cinderkit.
It will all become clearer..." Darkwhisper started to fade away.
"Wake up, sleepy head," mewed Gingerkit, pawing her with his paw, "I'm sorry about what I said earlier... I didn't mean it..."
