Duskkit stared over to where his sister was eating a plump mouse. Why couldn't she tell him? He would die for her, trust her with his life. Until now, he had thought that she would do the same. But she had proved him wrong. He could sense that she wanted to tell him, so why doesn't she? Why? What had he done wrong? What? What was more important then their friendship? What? Would things ever be the same? Would they? Why did everything have to change? Why?
"All cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather beneath the high-rock for a Clan meeting. Today, two kits are ready to become apprentices. Duskkit, step forward. I, Dawnstar, leader of ThunderClan, call upon my ancestors to look upon this kit who has reached the age of six moons. Duskkit, are you ready to become an apprentice?" Asked Dawnstar.
"Yes! I am!" Meowed Duskkit, his worries temporarily forgotten.
"Then from this day on, until you become a warrior, you will be known as Duskpaw." Mewed Dawnstar, "Pebblestorm, you have received amazing training from Sandwillow, and are now ready to take on an apprentice. You will train Duskpaw." She paused as Duskpaw and Pebblestorm touched noses, "I, Dawnstar, leader of ThunderClan, call upon my ancestors to look upon this kit who has reached the age of six moons. Shadekit, are you ready to become an apprentice?"
"I am," Mewed Shadekit.
"Then from this day on, until you become a warrior, you will be known as Shadepaw." Mewed Dawnstar, "Frozenflame, you have received amazing training from Abyssshadow, and are now ready to take on an apprentice. You will train Shadepaw." After Shadekit-no, paw and Frozenflame touched noses she jumped down.
"Wow, the apprentice den is getting crowded!" Duskpaw heard Gingerpaw meow to Cinderpaw, and she nodded in agreement.
