It's been a few days since we got here. The only interaction we've had is when I bring food to her room. She simply opens the door and closes it once she's received the meal. We're completely out of food and other resources. The time has come where I have to venture out and get stuff. But, I can't let anyone see me. I destroyed the tracking part of her phone before we left, so they can't track us here.
I grab a black sweatshirt out of the closet. Picking up my sunglasses, I pull the hoodie on and cover as much of my face as I can. My brother dropped off a car the other day in case I ever had to leave. I'm sure the Feds have identified the van's plates by now. Sliding into the car, I pull onto the main road. There's a grocery store down the road that should have all the stuff we'll need.
I start thinking while I'm in the car. I can't deny my feelings for her, but she doesn't feel the same way. It appears that I'm getting nowhere with the current situation. I think that it might be best to try to give her more freedoms and amenities. I've tried so hard to remain dominant and not let any weakness show. But, there's still a soft spot inside me somewhere that is dying to help her.
When I pull into the supermarket parking lot, I feel a little apprehensive. I pull the hood up over my head and step onto the gravel. Going into the store, I grab a cart and start wandering the aisles. There is literally nothing in that house, and the few things she does have are what I grabbed from her house. I start at the food section and just start putting different types of produce and items into the cart.
Once I feel content with the amount of food we'll need, I start going lane by lane. I see a set of fitted sheets and place it in the cart. I grab a fuzzy throw blanket and pillow as well. Passing by the clothes, I drop in a pair of pajama pants. I'm not sure how cold it is in her room. Well, her cell. I remember that she didn't bring anything with her and grab a few undergarments additionally.
Making my way through the whole store, I eventually collect an assortment of items that include a box of tampons, a bathrobe, two towels, shampoo, dish soap, paper napkins, a few different books that might be interesting, a journal, some pens, and a magazine I saw that featured the rumors about Kylie Jenner's baby. At some point in time, I came across the fact that she's pretty identifiable. I grab a box of at-home bleach and a blonde hair dye set. I have no idea how they work or what you need, so I pick up a set of gloves that were advertised next to them.
Shambling to the register, I realize it must look a little strange for a man to be buying so many feminine products. I shrug and begin putting the stuff on the belt. The woman running the sales register starts scanning all the items.
"Lots of items today, huh?" she mused.
"You know how they are, the Mrs," I grumble gruffly. She chuckles a little and finishes ringing me up. I swipe the card, smiling a little to myself at the thought of her being my "wife". I place the plastic bags of groceries into the cart.
"Have a good day, sir" she pipes in as I roll the buggy away.
