"It was during the Tai Pei mission with Red Arrow," I told Batman, though I kept my voice lowered. "Sportsmaster revealed the possibility of a mole within the team. In light of last night's attack, Tornado would appear to be the traitor. But whether he betrayed us willingly or was pre-programmed is still-"
"You knew?!" Suddenly, I was pushed into a nearby wall, causing me to grunt in pain. Looking up, I found myself facing Superboy. I must have heard me with his super hearing. "That android and his maniac family nearly killed M'gann!"
"Conner, what are you doing?" Miss Martian asked, flying over to us.
"Kaldur knew we had a traitor among us and said nothing!"
"You knew?" Robin questioned.
"And didn't tell us?" Kid Flash added in shock.
"I sought to protect the team from-"
"Protect us from what?" Artemis asked. "Knowledge that might have saved our lives?"
"You almost died!" Superboy said to Miss Martian.
"Enough." Everyone stopped and looked at Batman. His eyes narrowed, causing Superboy to let go of my shirt. "With Red Tornado missing, the team will now be overseen by rotating supervisors. Captain Marvel has volunteered to take the first shift.
"I'm really looking forward to hanging with you guys," the Leaguer said.
Superboy turned to me, glaring as he spoke.
"After I dismantle Red Tornado, you and I are gonna-"
"Red Tornado is a member of the Justice League," Batman interrupted before Superboy could finish. "That makes him a League responsibility. You will leave him to us. I have another assignment for this team, but first..." He paused and stepped to the side, allowing a girl to step forward. She appeared to be our age. She had (h/c) hair and (e/c) eyes, also looking to be around Artemis's height. She wore a simple grey costume with black boots, a black belt, and black mask. "This is (h/n)," Batman introduced. "She will be joining your team."
"More like be another person to be suspected to be a mole," I heard Superboy mutter.
I nodded to Batman, smiling slightly at the girl.
"Welcome to the Team," I said.
"It's an honor," she replied with a smile of her own.
"Now, for your mission," Batman continued, motioning with his hand to something behind us.
We all turned to see an image of a newspaper heading appeared before us.
"'Gotham Mayor attacked by guerilla gorilla?'" Kid Flash read.
"Batman, please!" Robin said. "Tell me you're not sending us on this joke of a wild ape chase!"
"I never joke about the mission," Batman replied. Robin looked down. "I've checked the sources. I've studied the patterns. Mayor Hill's encounter is only the latest in a series of incidents. Aqualad, you and your team will depart for India and check this out."
I nodded. The Team began to make their way towards the Hangar.
"'Your team,'" Kid Flash huffed as he walked by me.
I turned away from my teammates as they left the room.
"You can follow me, (h/n)," I said to the girl. "I will show you where the hangar is."
"Thank you, Aqualad."
We walked in silence as we followed the others. When we came to the hangar, Captain Marvel flew into the Bio-ship. As (h/n) and I approached Kid Flash and Robin, I overheard them talking.
"Translation: he blames us for Red fiasco," Robin was saying. "Doesn't trust us."
They both looked back at me.
"It's a big club," Kid Flash stated before walking away.
I sighed slightly before boarding the Bio-ship, (h/n) behind me.
