Aqualad (Young Justice) x reader | Princess of Vlatava

Artemis POV

I sat beside Wally on one of the living room couches. The team had finished training almost an hour ago and now we were relaxing. M'gann, Zatanna, and Raquel were cooking; Robin and Kaldur were talking quietly; Wally and I were munching on a bowl of popcorn; and Conner simply sat on the couch, petting Wolf.

Suddenly, the Cave's speaker came on.

"Team, report to the mission room," Batman said. "You have three minutes."

Groans could be heard throughout the living room, but we got moving nonetheless. Quickly changing into our uniforms, we ran to the mission room to find Batman waiting for us.

"So, where are we headed today?" Robin asked.

"Vlatava," Batman stated. "Almost two hours ago, the queen and princess of Vlatava were attacked. An explosion went off, as well as gunshots. The queen was not injured, thankfully, but the princess was. I want you eight to go and figure out who is responsible and to protect the queen and princess."

"What of (h/n)?" Kaldur asked, most of us nodding in agreement. "Will she be joining us as well?"

"(h/n) is currently unavailable at the moment, away on personal matters."

The team nodded and headed out. I was almost out of the room when I noticed Wally wasn't with us. I glanced behind me to see him talking to Batman, a worried expression on his face. The two talked for a minute before Wally nodded and came over to me.

"Everything alright?" I asked him.

"Not sure yet, but we're about to find out. Luckily for us, I'm good friends with the queen, so we should have no problem getting to her or the princess."

"Isn't she the girl you saved last year?"

"Yep! Now come on. We need to get going."

The entire ride to Vlatava was filled with questions. Almost all of them directed at Wally since he was the only one who knew the royal family. He told us a little about Queen Perdita, but not much on her sister, the one who was hurt.

"I didn't get to meet her," he said. "But I have a feeling we're going to like her."

Finally, M'gann announced that we had arrived in Vlatava. She landed the Bioship and created an opening, allowing us to exit. As we stepped outside, we were met by a group of secret service and a small blond girl. She smiled upon seeing us and ran forward. We all looked on in surprise to see her hug Wally. He smiled and hugged her back before looking at us.

"Guys, this is Queen Perdita. 'Dita, these are my friends: Robin, Superboy, Wolf, Rocket, Miss Martian, Aqualad, Zatanna, and Artemis."

"Thank you all for coming," Perdita said.

"It is our pleasure," Kaldur told her. "We will do all we can for you and your sister."

"Is she alright?" Wally asked.

The queen didn't respond right away. Instead she turned around and said, "Follow me."
