Aqualad (Young Justice) x reader | Princess of Vlatava

Kaldur POV

After we freed all of the collared animals, I began to board the Bio-ship. Robin stood on the ramp, watching me from under his mask. Just as I was about to pass him, he spoke.

"Look, I need to know," he said. "Why did you keep the mole intel a secret?"

I turned around to find the rest of the team looking at me, all awaiting my answer. I was unsure for a moment. My gaze found (y/n), who smiled slightly to me and nodded. I nodded back to her, knowing what I had to do.

"The source of the tip was Sportsmaster," I revealed.

"What?" Artemis exclaimed. "You can't trust him!"

"I do not," I responded. "It seemed possible, even likely, that he was attempting to divide the team with false information."

"And given how this mission went," Robin said, "he nearly succeeded. But you had to consider it might be true."

"Yes. As leader, I did. In which case, I did not wish to alert the traitor."

"Hate to say it, but makes sense."

"I am still prepared to step down," I told them.

"All in favor of keeping Aqualad as leader?" Kid Flash said, raising his hand.

I watched as the others raised their hands as well. Looking to Robin, I saw him give me a smile. I nodded back to him.

"Guess it's unanimous," Captain Marvel said. He held out his hand, which I took. We shook hands for a moment before he stepped back. "See you tomorrow."

"You're not coming back with us?" I asked.

"Nope, gotta fly."

With that, he took off into the air, disappearing from sight.

"So, what are you gonna call him?" Miss Martian asked Superboy as they walked by me, a large white wolf following them.

"What's wrong with Wolf?" the clone questioned.

"Generic," Kid Flash said, "but acceptable."

I watched the rest of the team file onto the Bio-ship. When someone stopped by me, I turned my head to see (y/n) smiling at me.

"I knew there was a good reason," she said.

"Thank you for believing in me," I told her.

"You never gave me a reason not to believe you. I just hope you can do the same for me."

"I believe that is something I can do."
