Time ticks by slowly. Wanting to escape. Hurting with every breath. Trying to keep it together. Why? Because I'm alone.
I close my eyes as the sun filled my room a golden light. I rubbed my eyes and yawned. Gently I sat up but my head felt heavy and my neck weak. My arms heavy. I looked around the room only to notice … I'm not in my room?
The clock … 5 pm and the date … 15th February 2018. What? How? Why? Where am I? Why don't I remember?
Then white lights filled the room as my memories began to flood back.

I walked down the hallway into the living room, I let the boys stay here as each one told me their story…

"I'm 17 I had a twin sister she passed at the age of three due to cot death- she fell asleep and didn't wake up. I ended up with all the responsibility I ended up leaving my brothers behind … I'm sorry. I tried to visit once or twice a month but I can't … I dont have the money"
Hearing there stories broke my soul but not as much as Tyrone.
"ty? Tell her" Joe said.
"she can only help" Taylor Said wiping his red eyes.
Tyrone groaned I could see what he was about to say would cause him alot of pain and hurt but to know what's going on in his head it would help.
I gently placed my hand on his leg. he flinched, only for a second. My heart ached for him to tell me.
"it began a few years back" his eyes searched mine as if he knew something would break me if he continued. "my sister"
He reached into his pocket and pulled out a picture. It was a little girl. Her black hair blowing in the wind as a smile was spread across her face. Her lips stained pink as her green eyes stood focus on who I would thoughy to be Tyrone.
He was younger … maybe a year or two. He had his black hair tumbling down past his ocean blue eyes and his eyes stood looking at the young girl whom sat upon the edge of the balcony.
"she passed" tyrones deep voice brought me out of everything. "she took her life … or so they say"
"What's her name?" I asked as my fingers traced the photo of the young girl whom I thought I remember. I need a name to match the face.
"Jordan … Jordan Charles pine" his voice broke as I stood up. I looked at all the boys together.
"do you have a place to stay?" all shook their head. "you stay here till I can trust you not to blurt my secret… no buts."
They nodded in agreement I turned my attention to the point at hand … "are any of you in a gang?"
"um……… noooo" they all synced lies evident. I let it slide.
"take them to their room I have stuff to do" all of a sudden the door burst open to see … yes … my baby girl.
"mommy! Mummy!" her little less ran towards me as I caught her in a hug.
"Heya Maria" I pulled her into a meaningful hug. "what you doing home so soon"
She chuckled "silly mummy" I raised an eye brow as she wiggled out my arms and over to max who place a red box in her hands. She ran towards me and pushed the box in my face.
I smiled as I opened it. Inside was a gourguse ruby gem stone ring. My heart collapsed at the site. I grabbed out a little bag out of my pocket and handed it to her, she smiled as she pulled out a necklace it was like mine.
A tiny black cross.
I looked at everyone. And smiled as I pulled out a peice of paper. A smile spread across my face as max peeked over her shoulder. "You… adopted her"
Maria looked between us "what does adoted mean?" I chuckled.
"it means your mine forever." I kissed her cheek. Her eyes lit up. "right you" she looked at me "go get a snack then it's nap time okay?"
"mummy?"
"yes?"
"will you be my valentine?"
"of course I will" I bent down and kissed her cheek. I think it's best to leave this horrid town.
