"White people have no culture only what they steal from others."

Let me lecture you on the culture of a white South African:

Language: Afrikaans (Where did we steal that from...you could say Germans but oh their white)

Religious views: mostly Christians

Most South Africans are of European descent. But honestly I'm not going to go into history right now cause I want to talk about our culture today.

What being a Boer means:
So the Afrikaans word Boer translated means farmer. Of course all our people aren't famers its just what we call ourselves.

Most of us are Christians but not all. We have a very deep faith in God and in Jesus.

We also celebrate Geloftesdag on 16 December even though it doesn't count anymore under our new government.

This day is important to us because when the Boer people thought against the Zulu's in Bloedrivier all hope seemed lost but they prayed to God. If he let them win they would honour this day. It's a promise from our people to God and thats why we don't break it.

To me being a Afrikaans child who loved to read I grow up with stories like Trompie and Saartjie and I still love them today. Saartjie is actually also my Grandma's name.

Topsie Smith was a famous South African writer and I dont see how we stole him. And yes he is part of our culture to me.

We have words that don't even make sense in America. Like the trunk of a car we call a boot. We call stoplights robots ect.

Afrikaans music. I hate it everyone hates it but we still love it get me?

We have Boerperde. We have a horse breed where did we steal that from?

Everyone in the world has a culture. Yes a lot of those cultures mixed. We use words from black African laugauge and they use Afrikaans word but thats part of South Africa's culture as whole.

I love my heritage and I'm not ashamed we achieved great things as well.
