Tense could be one way you could describe the meal I am sharing with a bunch of De'noirs who I used to consider friends. They all give me the side eye as if evaluating me for the first time. This whole situation could not get any more strange. Just imagine the people you know and love looking at you like they've never seen you, its so surreal I have no idea how to even start explaining it.
"You need to eat if you want enough energy to practice today" Robin informs dryly from across the table, looking directly at me with a glint of dubiousness in his eyes as if he suspects I'm up to something. I nod and start eating away at the food I actually have no interest in eating, my stomach feels off, filled to the brim with nerves. I'm running out of time fast.
I mean, its not like I haven't only been given the overly important job to save the planet and everyone in it by the Gods but they also had to put a fucking time limit on it too.
This is karma for acting like a whore.
"You know, glaring at your eggs isn't going to do much for you" Ricardo snickers next to me. Oh. Did I forget to mention? That dick took it upon himself to sit next to me. His little statement does nothing but make me glare harder at my eggs, I refuse to look at him.
"You know, being annoying isn't going to do anything but piss me off?" I ask. He laughs in response over the ruckus of the busy dinning table.
"Feisty" He laughs.
"Eat a dick." I growl getting to my feet. "Lets leave" I demand Robin, who had been watching my little encounter. He says nothing, just gets to his feet.
Finally, just me and him. Alone.
We walk in silence deep into the wood.
"About what you saw-" I start, finally able to get this off my chest. Robin looks to me, giving me his full attention. He's clearly been wondering. "-I'm really sorry" I blurt out, not about his catching me do that but everything in general. He looks confused at first, raising his brow at me before the look drops and no emotion show on his perfect face... a look I'll never be able to get used to.
"I'm listening" he states.
"Umm, well, you see-"
"You a witch?" he asks bluntly. I also choke at the thought.
"Robin! No. The fuck" I say. "I'm no witch, I'm just a normal bitch with a weird... talent" I try
"Real normal" he rolls his eyes "You know, I don't like you. You give me a weird feeling and I wont be keeping you around for any longer then I have to." he shrugs.
"Love you too" I mumble.
"All I've said I'll do is teach you to use a bow, I never said id be nice while doing it"
"Seems fair" I roll my eyes, masking how much he hurts.
"Why don't I remember you?" He blurts out, suddenly turning and stopping walking.
"What?" I ask.
"I feel like I know you. Everything's familiar, you voice, your hair, your sayings. Everything just makes me feel like I know you but there's like a block there. Why do I feel like that?"
"You just forgot about me" I say, my head hung.
"This isn't what it feels like to forget" He says, looking me in the eyes for an intense moment. He searches my eyes, I hope he cant tell how sad I really am to hear things like that. "We're here by the way" he adds, finally turning from me.
