"Ah, right. Another Salvatore."
"Another? You've met my brother?"
"Who hasn't, he's talked to literally everyone, and those who meet him can't forget him or those blue eyes." she smiles.
Elena, looking extremely puzzled, turns to Stefan. "Wait, brother?"
The waitress rolls her eyes. "Yeah, you're on a date with him, and you know nothing about him? Guess you picked the wrong girl, Salvatore." she winks and makes direct eye contact, ignoring Elena.
"Date?" Stefan and Elena say at the same time.
"Oh, so you're not on a date?" she asks.
"No way." Stefan says.
"I just met him!"
"We're only friends."
"I know nothing about him."
They ramble on for what must have felt like years for the waitress. "I don't see her that way," he scrunches up his face in a disgusted manner. Elena turns to him and suddenly feels sick after seeing his reaction. Ouch.
"Alright, well, anyways. I'll set you two up for a table in a minute. Call me, Stef." She slips a piece of a napkin with her phone number in it into his pocket, then walks away.
Elenas eyes focus on the napkin for a moment when Stefan pulls it out. "That isn't even enough numbers for a phone number. What kind of idiot can't remember their own phone number?" She face palms, and Stefan starts to laugh.
They grab a table, and sit down. It's a lot fancier than Elena thought, but I guess she's just never hung out with a Salvatore before.
"Sorry for acting so grossed out earlier." He apologizes.
"Oh, no worries. I feel the same way." She replies, even though she knows she's lying.
"It's just, my whole thing with your sister, you know."
"Thing?" she asks.
"Yeah, well, I'm really starting to like her, and she told me she wants to be exclusive with me, so I guess I should toss this phone number. The phone number that isn't even a fully functional phone number."
Elena stares at her empty plate in slight disbelief. They have a thing? She wants to be exclusive? Does that mean she's going to break up with her boyfriend for him, or is she planning on cheating?! She contemplates quickly in her mind, because she's used to thinking quick for school, if she should tell him or not.
It's not my business, she thinks, but she likes him. So she should tell him. Then again, Marie is her sister.
"That makes me happy to hear." she softly smiles.
