All four of them turned towards the front door. The incessant thumping wasn't about to stop anytime soon.
"What is it?" asked Rhonda terrified.
"Let me see" said Jason.
"No!" yelled the other three. Even Heath shook his head at Jason to not go ahead and check who or what was thumping at their front door.
Jason shrugged them off and walked towards the door. As soon as he wealked towards the door the thumping stopped. He turned to look at the others and suddenly Rhonda screamed. She pointed a window, the window was closed but the curtains were open and through the glass they all could see the face of a hideous monster.
It was smiling at them eerily and all of a sudden he pointed towards Heath and howled. Heath cowered behind Jessica and said, "what does it want?"
Right then the creature pinted at Heath again and looked up and howled. The hair on all thri necks stood as they heard the unearthly sound. It made Jessica want to sob incessantly, it made Rhonda run to Jason and clucth him tight by now even Jason had lost some of his cockiness. Then without any warning the creature turned and ran.
Jason ran up to his window and saw that the creature was now perched on the gate of their bungalow and looked up and howled.
"Ughhh" siad Rhonda covering her ears.
"Why does it want me?" asked Heath.
"Probably because you rolled the dice" said Jason.
Heath whimpered and Jessica tried soothing him and placed an arm around him.
"This is all your fault! You wanted to play this stupid game."
"Oh come on its all good fun"
"Good fun? Really Jason?"
"Yep"
"Jason what the hell is wrong with you?"
"Nothing" said Jason, only it wasn't Jason but a man's distorted voice coming out of Jason. Jessica saw his eyes shine green, the same eerie green that had surrounded the box and suddenly it vanished.
Jessica thought she was imagining things under stress but sadly Rhinda spoke up, "What happened to your voice?"
"Nothing" said Jason in his normal voice.
Rhonda detatched herself from Jason and went to Jessica. They sat on the couch breathing in.
Thump.
They heard something fall on the upper level. All of them looked at each other fearfully. Jessica rushed to the window and saw that the creature had disappeared from there.
"Oh my God! Th-the creature is not there!"
Rhonda screamed as the creature came flying down the stairs. All of them scattered in different directions. Jessica ran in the kitchen and Rhonda followed. Heath jumped under the couch and Jason ran towards a spare room. They all waited for the creature to make its first move. The creature stopped outside the kitchen door and sniffed and then moved ahead.
It stopped outside the spare room and sniffed again.
"What is it doing?" asked Rhonda.
"Its searching for something" said Jessica.
"What?"
Jessica shrugged and shivered slightly and then it dawned on both of them, "Heath!"
Just then the creature let out a triumphant howl.
