Chapter 13: Morocco, Africa

Cecil stayed up all the nights steering the boat to Africa. Macy slept all night but when she woke up she saw the sun rising and it was beautiful. She looked over and saw Cecil, he looked tired and weak. Macy looks at how much food was left in the seaweed, two oysters were left... Macy wanted to panic but didn't, she also didn't want Cecil going back into the water to fetch for more. She just quietly folded back the seaweed and walked up to Cecil. He already knew what she was doing so he says " We're low on food aren't we?"  Macy looks at the ocean saying " Yeah." Cecil tells her " well is there enough for breakfast?" 

" Cecil, there are two oysters left...what are we going to do?" 

" We are going to eat those two oysters. Then we are going to make it to Morocco. We are almost there I can tell and my compass also tells me. Don't worry I'll take care of things" 

Macy nods then serve up the last two oysters. Cecil goes cheers and they both hold up their oysters and then suck the oyster out of the shell. Part of Macy didn't want to eat that last oyster, part of Macy wanted things to go back normal. A week in a half of this mission and Macy was already homesick and also ready for this to be over with.

Sitting in the office, a doctor walks in. He looks at Macy and askes her " is this really what you want to do?" Macy, tears running down her eyes say "yes."

The doctor then pursues to remove the baby from Macy's stomach. Macy was pregnant but by mistake, In high school, she was dating her high school sweetheart but in her suppose to be boyfriend mind, he thought of her as a fling. Caught hooking up in the janitors closest both were suspended for two months. Within the two months, Macy began feeling nauseated and weak. Her parents were worried about her so they scheduled her a doctor's appointment. Sitting there Macy had to take a lot of blood tests. When the results came back the doctor told Macy that she was pregnant. 

Macy couldn't believe it, all she thought about was her parents being disappointed in her, her brothers disowning her, Her boyfriend leaving her, and her life-changing way before it could even start. When she got home everyone was there waiting for her in the living room. When Macy opened the door like a surprise but not a surprise everyone ran up to her asking " what happened? are you okay? what did the doctor tell you?" Then Ryan tells everyone " hey, calm down and let the lady speak." The room goes quiet and Macy tells them " the doctor just told me that I had very bad flu, but don't worry he gave me some very strong anti-biotics and am okay for right now." 

Everyone let out a big sigh of relief and went on to huge her. Macy put on a fake smile and then went up the stairs. She sat on her bed and looked at the floor as her mama walked in. She looked at Macy and asked "now Macy are you sure everything is okay? I am a woman and I know what women go through. Now tell me what did the doctor really say what's wrong?" Macy looks teary-eyed saying mom the doctor said I was...."(in Unison) They say " pregnant"  Macy faced looked surprised saying " you knew?" Mama tells Macy " of course." They both looked at each other as Mama then asked " so what are you going to do? I know you are not thinking about you know...an abortion?" Macy looks at her mom not saying a thing. " so you are? Macy, have you even told the father?" Macy tells her " No ma, but when I arrive at school I will. I know you are mad at me. First I get caught in the closet and now this." The mom looks at Macy telling her " I'm not mad at you, its just you made a lot of mistakes that you need to learn from. Now tell the baby father and I will deal with guys."

After two months past it just looked like Macy was getting a little big but when She saw her boyfriend and she told him. Not knowing what to expect the boyfriend told Macy to abort it or he will leave her. Macy didn't want to lose him so she did what she was told. A week later she was there by herself, her boyfriend left her, and Macy was stuck going through the abortion by herself. Lucky Macy mama came towards the middle, Macy was happy for someone to be there. Thinking back Macy should have never been that naive and also should have never given up her baby. Her mama was in her corner and that was one of the starts of Macy being independent.

" Hey, hey.....you there. Look I am sorry for being rude to you so far. We really need to change in order to complete this mission. On the other hand, We're here so let's ditch the boat and hike out to the nearest town. You ready..."

Macy gets up rubbing her eyes saying " yeah, I am ready."
