Chapter 23: What He Saw...

The sun was rising. It looked beautiful, with pink, red and yellow in the sky. The cab driver drove with a smile on his face making sure to please Macy and Cecil. The big man was funny, especially what he said he saw...

"vocês vieram do céu?" ( did you guys come from the sky?)

"sim." (yes) Macy said.

"então vocês são como alienígenas?" (so you guys are like aliens?)

"Não bobo," (No, Silly) Macy said laughing.

"Mas eu vi você. Vocês dois vêm o céu com asas. Seguido por uma grande coisa deixando-os dois." (  But I saw you. You two come to the sky with wings. Followed by a big thing leaving you two.) Said the cab driver.

"Oh, parece que você está gostando desse sanduíche mais do que se preocupar conosco." 

( Oh really, you seem to be enjoying that sandwich more than to worry about us.) Macy said chuckling.

"Sim, ok. Mas EU sei o que vi." (  Yeah okay. but I know what I saw.) The cab driver said looking at Macy and sleepy Cecil in the mirror up and down.

Cecil was tired and didn't understand a thing they were saying so he just let them talk. He also wonders if they were talking about him. It didn't matter he was too tired to say anything.

" Are we there yet? at least almost there?" Cecil said. 

" yea, we are almost there. I know where we are. Just a few more minutes," Macy told Cecil.

Reaching there Macy told Cecil to get up because he had fallen asleep, next they both told the cab driver bye. He still went on and on about knowing for a fact that they are aliens. Macy laughs at the guy's story. Thinking that if she had to be an alien well at least she'll be a cute one. 

The house that they pull up to was comfortable looking. Just a regular size house. Macy's mother's side was from Brazil. Macy's father's side was from Germany. The thought of how they got together is out of this world. Once Macy got to the door it opens carelessly. Behind the door was her uncle. Next came her aunt that was married to her Uncle. Macy forgot that some of her family lived with her Grandpa and Ma. 

All they were saying was " Ei, bem vindo de volta !!" (  hey, welcome back!!) Macy felt welcomed. Happy to see her family that she hasn't seen in a while, Cecil, on the other hand, got all the dirty looks. They were still in their African clothes under there parachute clothes. Cecil wanted his Suit back. Which Macy was carrying in her bag.

" Onde vovô e mamãe? " ( where grandpa and ma?) Macy asked.

" Na cozinha " ( In the kitchen.) Someone replied.

Macy then went to the back of the house where the farther she went the more she smelled food. When she made it to the kitchen she saw her grandmother cooking while her grandfather was playing cards. They both welcomed her with happiness.

" Avô avó. esse é o Cecil." (  Grandpa, grandma. this is Cecil.) 

They both looked at Macy crazy. then grandma asked, " Esse é o seu amigo que você quer que nos encontremos?" (Is this your guy friend that you wanted us to meet?)

"sim, apenas um amigo ..." ( yeah, just a friend.)  Macy said knowing where the conversation was going and she didn't want it to start. 

"Bem, todo mundo é mimado nessa casa. Eu estava apenas fazendo uma refeição, eu farei uma grande agora." (Well, everyone is welcomed in this household. I was just making a meal, I'll make a big one now.) the grandma tells Macy.

Macy tries to tell her grandmother not to overwork herself but the grandmother insisted. Macy then begins walking up the stairs to the guest room she always sleeps in when she used to come over, Cecil followed not knowing what to do. " What did they say about me?" Cecil asks.

" Cecil, they say you are a very handsome man." Part of that was true. 

"Oh," Cecil said.

"Well, dinner will be almost done. So there's a bathroom right by the closet. We should wash up." Macy tells Cecil. " You first," She tells him. 

Cecil then goes to the bathroom while Macy looks around the room. Remembering the times she had there, Macy then looks under the bed to see a book. She always wanted a dairy but couldn't get one. So she made her own so her mother wouldn't have to buy one. Inside of it holds all her secrets. Her first kiss, her first time in a fight. ( She lost btw). Macy cried a little reading all those things.

Dinner was about ready and Cecil wasn't hungry. Macy grandpa asks if he eats. Trying to be funny Macy ignores him. They ate fish, chicken, corn, rice, etc. Macy wanted something sweet so she ate a slice of, lemon cake.  She brought a slice up to Cecil, he ate it like an animal. he was hungry but didn't want to face the wrath of Macy's family. Especially how he been treating her half of the mission. 

They begin to talk. 

Macy wanted to tell Cecil what she knew but was afraid to. 

Cecil looking at the News he lets out a sign " So, Macy umm you have a good family. I can see the love. Something I never had. Something I always wanted." 

Macy looks at Cecil as they lay on the same bed. She was at the bottom end while he was at the top sitting up. She was laying on her stomach waving her feet. Cecil caught one of them and asked, " Are you listening?" Macy knowing that he was playing goes " yeah..."

She tries to get him to let go but they ended up play wrestling. He grabs her arms and hands saying " Now if a bad guy comes and does this, then what do you do?"

" I know..." Macy says " I kick him in the nuts..."

She then begins to try as Cecil blocks her saying " Noooo.."

He tries to block her to his best possibility but couldn't. she kicked him and it hurts. Cecil falls back. Whimpering he goes " Macy...that hurts."

Macy feeling remorseful goes 'I m sorry Cecil, I really am." 

She then lays on the side of him with her leg lay across his legs. Cecil was thinking about removing them but just let them stay. 

The feeling was conformable, something Cecil never felt. Yeah, he had girlfriends but not like her. Macy, she showed Cecil somethings that he never saw. Cecil's last relationship all his girlfriend wanted him to do was take care of her like buy her things. She cooked but that was about it, not a good person to bring home to moms. Macy, she's different she knows how to handle herself, she knows how to care about others like Cecil on the boat and now. Cecil knew this was going to happen, his cold heart becoming soft. He couldn't take it, he needed to tell her...
