Chapter 31: The Future

{ONE YEAR LATER}

"Cecil come here your going to miss the cake, " Macy says.

They're at Cecil's currently also Macy's home.

"I'm coming, I'll be there in a second." Cecil picks up Mason as he carries him over to the table.

The family gathers around as Cecil then Macy put their hand on the knife. Cecil then looks at Mason as he puts his hand on top of their hands.

"Can we get a count down?" Cecil asked.

The family begins.

3...2...1...

The cake slice open as inside of the cake shows pink.

Macy jumps up and down in excitement.
Cecil shouts "it's a girl!!"

Everyone begins to clap as Cecil reaches down to tell Mason. "You see there Mason. You're going to be a big brother Mason. You're going to have a little sister, and  you'll need to protect her at all times okay?"

Mason shakes his head. Then he runs off with his cars.

Cecil walks over to Macy as she cries in her hands.

"Hey, how do you feel?"

"I'm overwhelmed with excitement right now Cecil. Our family is expanding." Macy says.

"I know and I owe it all to you. I just want to thank you for having my child... again and letting me be around from the beginning this time. " Cecil smiles as he holds her in his arms.

Ryan walks over.

"Mind if I talk to you alone Cecil?"

Cecil looks up, "yeah man, here I come."

Cecil meets Ryan over by the beers. Ryan's hands Cecil one.

" Thanks, so what's up?" Cecil askes.

"I just wanted you to know that you're a great guy Cecil. I know I gave you hell last year and to make it up I give you my blessing."

"Ryan, " Cecil thought "Macy and I are already married, " Cecil says.

"Nah I'm talking about just in general, you don't need to worry about me breathing down your neck as much anymore."

Cecil shakes his head as he tries his hardest to agree and move on.

Cecil then thinks as Ryan goes on and on about if he really wanted to he could have been snapped Ryans neck like a twig. Then hide his body somewhere where no one could find him, but the thought quickly goes away as he realizes that Ryan is just being a good overprotective brother.

Macy, on the other hand, walks over to her friends, her brother's wives and Cecil, and her mother.

"So how does it feel to be grandmother's again?" Macy asks.

"Wonderful Macy, too many emotions to describe," China says. "Also your mother and I have been getting along very well in knitting."

"Well, that's nice to hear. Now you two can teach our baby when she gets older. " Macy tells the moms.

"Have you and Cecil thought of any names?" China asks.

"Yep, we already got one!" Macy prompted.

"Well let us have it," China says.

Macy waves for Cecil to come over.
Cecil high fives Owen then makes his way over.

"What's up, babe."

"Everyone wanna know the name hon. Can you tell them?" Macy asks.

"Sure hon but you got it, go ahead."

"No, you say the name, and I'll give the details behind it." Macy insists.

"Alright, well we're going to name our baby Cicily," Cecil announce.

"That name comes from his side of the family, I believe the father side, right?"

Cecil nods.

"And plus shes our little mission baby. I didn't know we conceived her on the trip." Macy tells.

China jumps up and down at the statement.

"It's okay honey, I did the same," China claims.

The party goes on as Cecil and Macy take a walk towards the boat in the lake outback.

"Be careful hon, " Cecil says.

"I got it, wouldn't be the first time hopping on this boat, say how did you get it back if it was all the way in Africa?" Macy Askes.

Cecil had a little layout that he set up a few hours before the party.

"Oh, the um Service brings it back. They also help the people that helped us in the mission." Cecil tells Macy.

"Like lady Natural and her kids?"

"Yeah, even your family back in Brazil."

"That's nice of them Cecil, We should go back and visit Lady Natural and her kids one day, don't you think?" Macy asks.

"Yeah, sure," Cecil says scratching his head knowing he doesn't want to.

"Cecil..."

"Yes, Macy."

"Do you ever regret getting me? Or having me on that mission with you?" Macy asks.

"To be honest Macy, at first yeah. But if someone were to tell me that a year ago I'll go on a mission with a desirable woman, who I would, later on, find out that I have a kid with. I would have never believed in them. If they were to tell me that I would also fall deeply in love with her and marry her because I can't see myself living without her then no I would have probably shot that guy for talking crazy. If I'm being too honest."

Macy laughs at the thought. 

"I'm just saying I probably would have. But what about you, do you regret going on the mission with me?"

"No, " Macy says. "I was terrified at first because I didn't know what was going on but once I got into it, I kinda liked it. It took me away from my usual job and gave me time to think about a lot of things."

"Was I one of them?" Cecil asked.

"Of course, you were," Macy says.

"Were you glad to be back home working your normal job than be on missions?" Cecil asked.

"Yeah, I make it exciting every now and again but some times I do reminisce on the mission from time to time. "

"You know I told you that you didn't have to work anymore but I respect your drive and passion in wanting to. " Cecil says. 

"Yea..."

They both take a deep breath and then look at the sun as it goes down.

"It's so beautiful," Macy says.

"Just like you!" Cecil tells her.

China walks down the hill towards the boat and hollers " Hey, you two forget it was a party going on inside?" She says while holding Mason's hand.

Cecil and Macy looks out as Cecil helps Macy up and out of the boat.

Then Cecil grabs Mason as he carries him in one hand and holds Macy's hand in the other.

Macy's other hand is holding China's.

Cecil thinks to himself as he looks at his family.

" Mission director by Day, family man by night. The perfect balance."
