Will was an artist too, and you felt like he was the only one who understood. Of course, all of you had seen his drawings before, but some people, like yourself, needed time. It was scary to show what was practically your soul on paper to someone, even if they were your friends.

"Thanks, Will." You smiled and blushed. "I'm going to head home now. See you all at school tomorrow." They all bid you farewell and you made sure to thank Mrs. Wheeler for dinner on your way out the front door.

When you arrived home after a short bike ride you ran upstairs to your room and prepared to hang the new photos of your friends on your wall. Only...wait a second. Oh no. "Shit!" you whispered as you flipped to the first page. This wasn't your photo book, this was - Shit. It wasn't yours at all. Instead of Polaroids of your friends and family staring back at you there were wizards and warriors. Somehow as you'd left the Wheeler's you'd picked up Will's sketchbook by accident.

"Oh, God. This cannot be happening," you groaned and fell back on your bed. You didn't want your friends seeing your photos, much less the boy you'd had a crush on since the fourth grade. Maybe he'll realize it's mine and not look out of respect, you thought as you did the exact opposite. You flipped open the sketchbook to the most recent drawing and studied it. It was...it was you. From today in fact. Early that morning the seven of you had gone to the park just to be outside in the nice weather, and you recognized the red and blue slide in the background of the drawing. It was almost like looking in a mirror. You were glancing to your right and laughing, your eyes scrunched so much that they were almost shut. You remembered now, Dustin had told a joke and you had laughed so hard that you started tearing up.

"Wow," you whispered. You didn't realize Will had gotten this good. You were used to him drawing cartoonish versions of the party in the world of D&D, and colorful renditions of what he'd seen in the Upside Down, not this. They looked so real. You had no idea. You flipped again and it was a drawing of Lucas and Max, Max with her head leaning on Lucas' shoulder, her eyes closed in content with a small smile on her lips. It was almost as if it was your book, the drawings were so lifelike.

You closed the book and sat it beside you, contemplating if you should call the Byers' house and tell them your books got switched. But, you decided against it, and studied all of Will's drawings of you until it was time to go to sleep.

When Will's brother arrived to pick him up from the Wheeler's he said goodbye to his friends and trudged out to the car, his heavy backpack in tow.

"So, Will, who did you draw today? Let me see," Jonathan asked him, a knowing smile on his face. "Shut up," Will muttered as he hopped into the car. "I'll show you in a second, just hold your horses." Will shoved his hand into his backpack and pulled out his sketchbook...that's not mine, Will thought as his eyes went wide. He flipped open what he thought was his sketchbook and the Polaroid of the six of them sat around Mike's basement fell into his lap. "Uh-oh."
