"What is it? Will, are you okay?" Jonathan asked and glanced at Will from the corner of his eye.

"This isn't mine. This is hers. Crap, I think (Y/N) took my sketchbook by mistake. Jonathan, what am I going to do, she's going to think I'm a creep!" Will said and held his head in his hands.

"Hey it's not the end of the world. Maybe she didn't even notice. Look, just take it to school tomorrow and switch back. Play it cool and..."

"And what if she did notice?" Will asked incredulously.

Jonathan sighed. "I don't know how to help you there, buddy." Will groaned.

When they got home Will went straight to his room to contemplate how he was going to explain to you why his sketchbook was made up of almost all you, why he had been such a creep and kept those to himself. She's probably going to hate me, he thought. He plopped his books down on his desk and your photo album fell open to a page made up entirely of pictures from your family's garden. He recognized the peonies that your mother tended to tediously every spring. There were even some actual flowers pressed into the pages and taped down. He knew he shouldn't look anymore but, he couldn't help it, your photography was beautiful.

He turned the page and was surprised to see a page made up almost exclusively of himself. There was one you'd caught of him trying to catch popcorn in his mouth. He remembered that! It was when the seven of you had all gone to see Friday the 13th: A New Beginning together about a month ago. You had taken close to ten pictures that time, trying to catch the popcorn in mid-air.

Back a couple pages was a snapshot of all of them at the Snow Ball. This one was taken by your mother, though. You were stood between him and Dustin, a neutral expression on your face while the others smiled. You never smiled when you weren't the one taking the picture. There were a few more from that night, ones of El and Mike dancing, of Lucas and Max the moment she'd kissed him for the first time. Even a couple of Dustin and Mike's older sister Nancy, laughing as they twirled around the dance floor, popular girls from your grade staring in the background. There was none of him though. That night you had barely said a word to him when they all got ready to make their leave. You had acted as if he wasn't there. Maybe you only wanted to capture him alone, he had been dancing with that girl all night long. What was her name again? Will shook that thought from his mind and decided it was time to stop invading your privacy. He closed the book and vowed to return it to you tomorrow morning before school started.
