CHAPTER 47 | CAUGHT

Pyro's P.O.V.

After the small hunters incident, my parents became more conscious about my whereabouts when I'm out of the house. They even put a tracker on my phone, which I think is breaking some privacy law.

But nonetheless, I kept myself busy, trying to have some normality—school playing a massive part with all the darn studying I have to do. How many tests do teachers have to give in one week?

My training became more intense when my father joined in, teaching hand to hand combat. He figures I would need it when I'm in public and can't use my abilities. Every now then, my brothers and sister will help out, and to keep their skills keen.

While my wolf was against hanging out with Tyler, I didn't care. He was a true friend and treated me like a human and not like a prize. I could be myself and have a good time. This was better than hanging around werewolves all day.

As Tyler and I continue to walk down the sidewalks, I notice that we are getting cold glares. The glares weren't from humans but werewolves. I recognize a few of their faces from the event that the alpha made me attend.

Most werewolves wouldn't socialize with humans unless it were necessary. Me willingly hanging with a human was more or less frowned upon, and something they don't like seeing. I'm sure if I didn't have a white wolf, they wouldn't care as much or who I hang around.

"Thanks for meeting me," I said with a smile, happy I didn't have to stay in the house, "but are you sure you won't get in trouble missing your uncle's class?"

"No, not really," he said with a laugh, but I knew he was lying by his heart skipping a beat, "plus, I would rather hang out with you than getting yelled at by my uncle."

"What does he teach you? '' I finally asked, curious to what has him busy three to four hours after school nowadays.

"Well, right now, he's teaching me archery," he let out a stressful sigh, "like when would I ever use that in my day to day life."

"Archery?"

"Yeah," I could tell he felt kind of embarrassed, "a lot of my family members like to hunt, my father just got back from a hunting trip."

I quickly looked him over and could tell he was more athletic than I thought, maybe because I never really care. He stood around six feet and was more on the tanner side which made his dark blue eyes pop. HIs wavy dusty blonde hair gave him a surfer vibe.

"Do you hunt," I finally asked him, curious to know.

"I know how to hunt but I don't think it's right to kill a creature just for fun," every word he spoke was the truth, "but, if it is for self-defense, I will do my best to stay alive. I do think it's important to have hunting and survival skills even if you never have to use them."

"Sounds like you are talking about a condom," I joked, nudging him with my elbow playfully as he laughs.

We continue to joke around about school as we turn the corner. I was about to ask Tyler a question when a familiar scent caught my attention. I could tell she was close by but, I couldn't pinpoint where.

"What is she doing here?" I groaned as I looked around the area for her.

"Who," Tyler asked curiously.

"My deranger cousin," I replied sarcastically.

It was impossible to track her when all her trails are all smelt the same. There is no hint of which one was made first or last. She made sure that she wouldn't be easily tracked.
