CHAPTER 62 | STILL THINKING
Jesse's P.O.V.
I never felt a rush like when I kissed him, the passion in a simple kiss. It happened so fast, and on impulse to shut him up. Come to think of it, that was our first kiss.
Before, I never thought about kissing a guy or having the urge to do so. But at that moment, I want it to last forever. I didn't want to stop kissing him. I can still feel his lips on mine and my hands around him.
"Hey, are you okay?" the voice of Aura pulled me out of my thoughts and back into reality. She sat across from me with worried eyes, "you've been in a daze all day, like a zombie."
Since that kiss, My mind has been replaying that moment over and over. I have been zone out most of the day due to that kiss. Part of me wanted to find Pyro just to kiss him again.
"Yeah. I'm fine," glancing back down at the open book in front of me, upon several other books that are open, "I'm just trying to figure out something."
"About the moon?"
"Yeah, she said a week, but the full moon is the following week," I told her as I glance back down at the book about the phases of the moon "there is no full moon."
Ever since I got home, I have been in the pack's library researching on moons. From what I know, there is no mom this week.
"You're talking about what the goddess said," sounding a little annoyed as she rolled her eyes "why do you care? You have been with me for the past three days. Why should you care about him when we were promised together when we were young?"
"Because his life matters too," I whispered to her as I look at another book on moons, "plus my mother would kill me if anything happens to him. Also, his family wouldn't stop till I was dead."
Though I wasn't certain, I was sure Pyro's family would burn down my entire pack to get revenge. All that they have been through to have him leave this world so easy, any family would want to have revenge.
"Your mother like him?"
"Yeah, she has been team Pyro since she found out I claimed him," I laughed, thinking about how my mother has been on my ass since then, "my mother doesn't hate you or anything like that."
"She just doesn't like me the way she likes him," she said with a faint smile.
"No, that's not true."
"Anyway, there is a full moon this week," quickly changing the subject, handing me a book she was reading, "it's a special one at that, only lasting about an hour or so. The Supreme Moon, it belongs to the goddess appearing just days before earth's moon."
"So you think this moon is the full moon she is talking about?"
"Yes, it is also the moon to her pack, the Supreme Pack. It does make sense since Pyro's mother comes from that pack, and he is a white wolf. When the moon reaches its highest, it is said that the heir will be at their full potential. Then it also said that it is the only time an heir can take the place of the goddess or..."
"Or what," I asked.
"Or for a goddess to take his place within this world."
"Pyro."
"Can I ask you something," she went on to say, "it's about Pyro."
I nodded.
"What do you see in him?" raising an eyebrow at me, "I had heard you call out his name in your sleep, telling him to come back to you when I came to check up on you at night."
"You're joking?"
"No. That is why I ask. Are you two close?" She asked in a curious tone.
"Well, he's stubborn, yet he is caring and kind. A reason my mother likes him," I went on to say as I thought on it, "In her eyes, she thinks that fate is the reason he is here. How his family comes to this pack instead of any of the others in the area."
"But how YOU feel about him?"
"Well, I would have to get back to you on that one," I told her, knowing I didn't want to see him leave this world.
